And, ya know, a calculator...
This. Why apple why? If you are pushing the iPad as a Mac replacement, we need simple features like this.

I’d also like the ability to have widgets on my Home Screen and the App Library. I love the App Library feature. It’s let me go from 6 pages of apps to 2.

It makes me wonder if you need something “new“ for iPadOS 15 and that will be it.

iPad will never become a competent computer replacement, unless MacOS & iPadOS merge. which will probably happen with the ARM architecture, in 2-3 years.
That depends on how you define "competent computer replacement," which depends on your use case. If all you need is to check email, access websites, and perhaps type a letter or two then it certainly can be that. OTOH, if you need to do complex analysis in Excel, run a Windows VPN, then no.

Does anyone find it annoying that you can't pull down to do a search while in a sub folder? In iOS too.

Meh, iOS can keep the App Library, unless Apple also provides a toggle to disable it.
I'd add also allow it to be the first screen as well. I like the ability to scroll alphabetically as well.

It's an ugly crutch for the unorganized and the forgetful.
That's me...

Some guy on reddit posted that his screen sharing software stops working if he tries to multi task on iPadOS. I was on YouTube via browser and had difficult time long pressing on a thumbnail to copy the video link.

These are just few examples why iOS is not a MacOS alternative and will never be unless in the future they somehow merge the two. I just don't see why people insist on using iPad or iPad Pro for work instead for opting to a much more capable macbook air.

Can we please be able to turn OFF App Library -
it is as useful as LaunchPad on the Mac!

I agree on the Multi User Support,
a Basic Version like in tvOS
or
a more Mature Version like in Classroom, would be very Welcomed.

But also Support for more Faces on FaceID -
similar to more Fingers for TouchID in the Past.

A calculator, the Apple Health app, Apple Watch App -
like MKBHD has requested in his Podcast with Craig!

External disk streaming as suggested by @titokane

Support for H266 VCC (Versatile Video Coding)

A Lidar supported low Light Camera System on the Backside &
a Multi MegaPixel Camera on the Front in combination with FaceID.

As well as Memoji Auto Creation
from either a Picture in the Camera Roll
or
Camera + FaceID
or
Camera + Lidar Image.

And an updated T3 Chip without the Security Bug,
that has been gone through the News recently...

Along with UWB for iPad Pro
as well as
5G + mmWave Cellular Support for the next iPad Pro Version!
and
Support for : LiFi, WiFi 6 wave 1+2 , Bluetooth 5.2,

Plus either USB 4.0 and/OR Thunderbolt 4 Support for iPad Pro over USB-C,
which could then also support the 2nd Screen Function,
with a connected Mac or as 2nd Screen to a USB-C / Thunderbolt enabled Monitor.

And the Ability to use an AppleTV's Siri Remote as Presentation Clicker
or
an update to iWork Remote App
to support more Apps than just KeyNote / PowerPoint / etc.
on a connected iPhone/iPod Touch

And a better Support / Charge + Storage for the Apple Pencil
in the 2nd Generation of Magic Keyboard.

I’m just don’t see why people keep insisting that they know other peoples work flows better than they do. For photo editing my iPad Pro and pencil p*sses all over a MacBook Air for ease of use, speed and feature set.
All of the other work I need to do for my business can be easily and more simply achieved using my iPad Pro. So much so that I now don’t even have a laptop, just and iPad Pro and a Mac mini for tasks that macs are better at.
A MacBook Air is a great little machine, but don’t mistake it for an iPad Pro replacement, because it’s not.

The lack of App-Library doesn't bother me because I don't see much difference between it and a page of folders.

To me the benefits of using it are the alphabetical list and being able to launch three folder apps without opening that folder. Those benefits are offset by the fact that Apple's organization sometimes makes no sense to me. For example, why isn't 'Stocks' in 'Productivity & Finance' and why isn't 'Wallet' in 'Shopping'? Also, if the pull-down 'Siri Suggestions' contains 8 apps, why does the App Library 'Suggestions' only contain four apps?

That being said I would like Apple to modify the folder mechanism to mirror the App Library; allowing us to define which three folder apps appear larger. We could decide between classic small folder icons and larger App Library style folders. This would mean that the App Library is folders for people who want Apple to organize their phones.

- Better external screen support
- remote control from an iPhone (change what the kids watch in the back seat from the passenger seat).
- enable developer tools. Xcode for iPad, yes please!
- would be awesome with full Figma on iPad. I guess that is more on the Figma side than on Apple side.

a local file system with sync support for dropbox, tresorit, onedrive etc.
That way all the application can work with any sync service - specially those with client side encryption, where
cloud access is not an option

Still can’t believe Apple ran their “WhAt’S a CoMpUtEr?” ad and I’m still waiting for the ability to have 2 people use an iPad or plug it into an external display.
I would guess it's a result of the use cases that make that not a priority. I think there are two main audiences for the "What's a computer?" concept:

1. Business. Here am user may have lighter needs when out of the office or travel rarely and thus an iPad may meet those needs quite well. In such cases, multiple users are not really needed since it is a device that would typically be tied to one person.

2. Family. Here, it may be more of "you don't need to buy a second Mac since an iPad will meet your needs at a lower price point so you can buy several so each family member has one" message. Th iPad is not intended to be a shared device, much like a more expensive PC that also requires space, peripherals, etc. It is a personal use device and adding multiple users is not part of that model. In addition, as another poster pointed out, the small storage sizes of lower end models would make having multiple users a poor experience since they would rapidly use up all available storage. As a result, multiple users would be a bad idea, from Apple's perspective.

I agree it would be useful with the right iPad, but don't see it coming until iPads come with significant more storage as the standard configuration.

“Useful feature”... as opposed to a non-useful feature? The word “feature” implies useful. That’s like saying “successfully complete”.

How about getting dictation feature right once for all? And a possibility to silence or change volume for that annoying ding dong sound. Same goes for Siri Volume.

And what about Facetime Audio/Video calls? It rings on my side, but only 20 out of 80 times on the other side. Groupcalls? Joke. How about you get all that right before introducing new emoji icons? iOS 14.3 perhaps?

Clean up iMessage. Thousand different adresses, numbers messages is sending from. Its a mess.

All I want is multi-user, it's the difference between buying two cheap iPads and one iPad Pro.

Restrict it to the Pro's if it's about money, I don't care.

Works fine with classrooms. The fact is, Apple want a family to buy an iPad for each user.

Multi User support, allow it to Mirror my phone layout. I'd love my ipad to be a big version of my phone!
