All garbage, give me back dark mode wallpapers
Even better, there was a "hack" a few years back where you change your wallpaper to an image one pixel wide and it got rid of the icon background and the dock background, giving you a very cool looking black/dark mode. Apple quickly "fixed" the bug and we lost that dark mode. It'd be cool to be able to set something like that up again.

Before downloading, check the “App Privacy” section. Here’s what it says for one of those apps:

It usually has to do with how the photo is positioned. Apple is very strict with how much of the time you can cover before it disables the depth effect, unlike the Watch Portraits face, which is more flexible.
moving the photo around doesn't seem to help though

And I ask one simple question: why do I want something covering up the clock? Half the time the only reason I personally check my phone is to see what time it is.

Same goes for the Apple Watch: I cannot fathom why they won’t make it so that the watch hands become opaque as they pass over complications. What good is the digital time display or calendar or ::insert any complication here:: when it’s covered by the watch hand(s).
Oh well, maybe a future WatchOS update will fix that.

I noticed that too. You are only allowed to cover barely the lower half of the clock. That means there has to be enough space above the object to fill out the rest of the screen. Basically heads have to be in the in the second quarter of the picture (counted from the top) or even lower.

Old iPhone wallpapers are out there if you do a google search. Save to photos and set as wallpaper. I have found some nice wallpapers linked to Aaron Zollo's YouTube channel although they a generally various colors and patterns and not cats and so forth.

I'll vouch for Unsplash. Great app, no annoying ads. Great photos and since they are user submitted it's constantly got new ones.
When something is completely free, YOU are the product. YOUR data, location, browsing history, etc.
No company exists giving out free product with no strings attached.

Unless MR can validate and guarantee these apps for it's user base, they should not be recommending them. These types of apps are riddled with ads, spam, in app purchases and other junk. I stay very far away.
I really enjoy MR source of good info and you're right. The first post they made about an app that could make lock screen shortcuts required a yearly subscription to be actually usable....
I come here for legit content not shilling...

Looked into Lockscreen+ and uninstalled within 10 seconds of opening the app. Who in their right mind would pay $3 a week for a wallpaper app? That’s the price of a Netflix subscription a month…

I understand that app subscriptions are the way forward but some of these seemingly useless apps are really pushing the limits of milking people for their money.
