OK.

But this:

No one has the answers to your questions until we get iOS 11 and an iTunes update. But again, if you can buy an APP to play FLAC what does that tell you? I am assuming that since the 6 it has supported this format but Apple did not want to make it known. I have no clue.

Right, you have no clue, so can someone else chime in, if they have an opinion.

the native apple music app does not support FLAC, as of yet. You have to load it into the Files app on iOS 11.

iTunes most likely doesn't support it either. You'll have to get a third party app, or upload it to icloud drive/folders to play it.

there could be support in the future, but i wouldnt bet on it.

" Audio Playback
  • Audio formats supported: AAC-LC, HE-AAC, HE-AAC v2, Protected AAC, MP3, Linear PCM, Apple Lossless, FLAC, Dolby Digital (AC-3), Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC-3) and Audible (formats 2, 3, 4, Audible Enhanced Audio, AAX and AAX+)

Is this right...?

Apple has supported ALAC for many, many years, so FLAC support is not really of any interest.
