FAQs and Helpful Information for Canadian orders

When and where do pre-orders start?

iPhone 18 Pro & Pro Max:
Saturday, September 12th, 2026

iPhone Duo:
Friday, October 16, 2026

Apple.ca or on the Apple Store app on your iOS device.

In-store Reserve and Pickup Link:
This option is no longer available. Apple used to allow you to reserve the phone and pay in-store. You must purchase online for in-store pickup.

Affirm Financing FAQs - Apple
General Info Link:
https://www.apple.com/ca/shop/browse/financing
  • Affirm lets you finance your iPhone through Apple.ca or in-store over 24 months. 0% financing is back!
  • Any trade-in value is applied as instant credit.
  • There is no hard credit check. A soft credit check is required for identity verification only.
  • There are no trade lines opened on your credit bureau for Affirm plans.
  • Payments can be made using pre-authorized debit, and begin Monthly starting 30 days after shipment or pick-up.
  • Loan can be paid off any time without penalty.
  • Not available on the EPP store.

Shipping & Delivery FAQs
In prior years, most iPhone orders ship via UPS directly from Apple Canada’s warehouse in Concord, ON. As such, tracking will not be available until the Thursday before launch day. This is normal. However, some shipments may still originate from China, and tracking will be provided earlier for those shipments.

In-store Pickup
You may select your local Apple store for in-store pickup during pre-order. Inventory normally sells out quickly with this option. However, in previous years, there was also plenty of in-store pickup stock available for all models starting roughly 30 minutes before the store opened on launch day, in case you missed your desired model on pre-order day.

Yeah.... I think I'll be sticking to my 16 for longer now. Really liked the Duo however that price.... Crazy that Samsung prices their Fold 8 under the exchange rate.

Just checked, my 15 Pro Max was $2049 in 2023. Same 512 GB 18 Pro Max is $2199 which is less of a bump than I was expecting all things considered...

I'll be trading in my 14 pro max for a 512gb 18 pro max. Giving me $580 as a trade in for it which im more than happy with.

Now to figure out a colour... I love black but black on these aluminum chassis?... They didn't mention upping the durability of the coating, so im not super confident the black will hold up well for the next 3-4 years.

Might get my first lighter coloured iPhone since the 6s plus lol

Yeah the prices are eye watering for sure. Im curious to see how many Canadians end up purchasing the Duo. I am very tempted to get the 256gb Duo....

I've got an iPhone 12 Pro.. Battery life is 73%.. I was going to hang on for another year, but the battery is so poor that I'll either pay another $110 for a new battery or just bite the bullet. Phones don't matter to me as they did years ago.. I'll either go 16 or 17.. The 18 is just too much money for not enough value. If it wasn't for Find My (we put them on our cats) I'd be tempted to get a flip phone and a old skool GPS for the car...

Will you be getting one this year?
Still digesting all the announcements from today and deciding. I ended up returning/skipping the 17 Pro Max last year because I was really happy with my 16 Pro Max which I still use today. It's really cool seeing a new form factor with the Duo, but I'm still leaning towards the 18 Pro Max for the battery and camera.. just unsure of Black or Glacier.

I traded in my 16pm to samsung and ended up paying $1475 all in for a 512gb fold 8. I knew I'd be looking at $800 more at a minimum for the folding iPhone. Turns out it would cost me an extra $1050 with the same trade in.

The duo looks pretty cool but Im happy with the fold 8 and an extra $1k. First time I've been without an iPhone since 2007 lol. Feels kinda weird.

$3k for the Duo is just insane. I can't see those devices making it past a year without being severely torn up. Most people I see have some kind of break in the front glass of their iPhones. Those look like they will wear down just from pocket lint.

They are almost the price of 2 M5 iPad Pros!

Apple has hit the Sculley days again. This is madness.

The Duo is definitely compelling (and honestly I really, really like the animation when opening/closing it) but price point aside I just don't think I can go without Face ID at this point, even with unlock via watch as an option.

I know this is "more money than sense" talking but I might trade in my 17 Pro for an 18 Pro just for the black colour, which is really the one I wanted last year but didn't get. I'm also hopeful the C2 modem will help with some poor coverage spots around me, as apparently the C1X does handle those better.
