im looking to start this as well. looking to buy an ebay x800 pro vivo. also board number 102. which resistors did you end up swapping?
im concerned with the clock speeds and any changes to the board layout in terms of the manufacturer. from my understanding the fire and pro vivo should both be x800 xtpe level boards?

This seems a flashing or rom/frequency issue to me, not hardware. It is very unlikely that two completely different cards from two completely different places have the same exact issue only when flashed.
Those artifacts appear on my cards when I use too high/too low frequencies either on the core clock or the VRAM.
Can you post a screenshot of your rom in Graphiccelerator and show the frequencies that you’re using?

Did you try with Leopard instead of Tiger?

P.S. how are you feeding power to the GPU?

That's a nice score! Glad you got it working!
Hello I have that same card from Germany but sadly it doesnt work whatever bios i throw at it
(flashing in MS-DOS on an old PC w "atiflash 3.1") it has Infineon ram on it.
Tried booting into OSX (i've installed ATI drivers previously) no dice.
Feeding it power over cdroms molex with a chinesium splitter
Using G5 A1047
Do you perhaps have that BIOS lying around somewhere by any chance?

Am not very techwise equipped i've bought G5 to play classical games :) but fx5200 wont cut it.

Sorry to revive this thread but I would be sure to have understood everything well before wasting money in the wrong purchase, so may someone confirm the following assumption?

- FireGL X3 with Infineon RAM wil act as X850XT without further timing modifications if flashed with v112 ROM (larger EEPROM required) and both DVI ports will be fully functional.

Is this statement true? Many thanks in advance
