It definitely has a ton of potential. I just hope a lot of customized options come in the next few releases. For being a 1.0 release it is nice.

macrumors should remake the iphone page into iphone/ipad page, or even better the iOs page, and then make this kind of advertisements there.

Hey there. Question in regards to this app. I've got it downloaded but I can't add my Facebook or Twitter accounts right now due to the demand. But once one gets the FB and Twitter integration going can one read individual status updates and tweets? I just keep reading where one gets what others are sharing so I'm just curious.

thanks

The overall look and feel seems nice, and the page transitions I like a lot, but what lets it down for me right now is the complete failure of it to allow me to read a full article without going to the original website, which kind of defeats the point of aggregating feeds in a magazine form imo. There's been a few articles where I've had to visit the original site to read literally the last 2 or 3 lines of an article. It'd be really nice to see that fixed. It would also be nice to have some degree of control over font families, colour and sizes.

That's what i was thinking. Makes the whole app kind of pointless.

The YouTube video demo looks great. I haven't had an opportunity to see the app in person, but it seems like a neat app to have.

Currently the features are definitely limited, but I have to say that to UI is awesome. The way FB is presented is completely refreshing although I would love it in more of the feed is presented instead of just the previous 6 updates or so. Either way, great app to try out considering it's free. Hope to see some more development being done on this.

you can click through to the post+comments and then click through again to see it on twitter/facebook (the whole thread/profile).

This app is what the iPad was built for. Have only thumbed through it for 5 minutes, but already has the best ui of any app for iPad. They will need to continue to develop it, and keep current, but A+++ app!!

Tried to add my Twitter account most of the day but I keep getting error messages regarding server overload. I hope the developers are working on a fix soon. Cool program!!

Question. If this aggregator was a platform specific desktop app that ran on a Mac or PC, the main idea being this WASN'T running on the iPad, but behaved in a similar flashy fashion driven instead by keyboard and mouse, would it have received the press it did?

I love the twitter integration. It takes all the URLs and twitpics etc and lays them out in the magazine format - works really well.

I agree with a previous poster - I'd love to be able to add a couple of forums to monitor- especially picture heavy threads (eg photo forum)

I finally got Twitter and Facebook logged into it..and...I don't see what the big deal with this app is. I mean, it's pretty and all that, but so what. It's not really giving me anything I don't already have. I mean, I guess it's okay, but I don't see how this is such a big news item. Doesn't allow me to put in my RSS feeds that I can see, but it's news sources are from other people's picks it looks like.

Meh, I'll stick with Reeder for my iPad RSS reader and Osfoora HD for my Twitter. I'll keep checking back with Flipboard to see if they've worked the bugs out. It may have potential, but now it's kind of still in alpha status.

No Good

I can't add my FB nor Twitter accts either, so I don't understand the hype. It seems like self-generated marketing. And their team is not very diverse, so I don't expect content that interests me unless they get the FB/Twitter accts working.

I don't use my Facebook account (I don't want others to see my personal business)

I don't have a Twitter account (I don't feel the need to tell everyone what I'm doing all the time)

Is there any point in this app for me?

You can still use Twitter (even if you don't post anything) to follow news sources, interesting people, photographers who post cool pics, etc. and aggregate all that in Flipboard.

You can't add your accounts because their servers are jammed. The app just came out and it's everywhere, I'm sure the developers didn't expect that.

Can't add Twitter or FB and now all my content on clipboard has vanished.

I try to add a section and it just says no content.

:(

yeah, me too. No content. Still can't add twitter account. I know the developers are bombarded, but a statement as to what they are doing to remedy the situation would be appreciated by alot of users and potential users of their app.

If it uses facebook connect to access your facebook account then I think it's safe. Usually most 3rd party apps use that method and I think everything is done through facebook that way

This app looks and behaves really nicely. My problem with it, is despite everyone on Twitter saying (for now) you need to open and close the app to refresh, it doesn't seem to be grabbing content. Facebook particularly - the FB website shows plenty of updates, but Flipboard shows about 2 or 3, then rest being from yesterday. I'm not sure if this is a server issue as Twitter seems fine.
Anyone else seeing this behaviour?
