Is the resale market really that good right now? It doesn't seem like ebay or Craigslist postings are doing so well...

Smart move, this seems to be happening just about everywhere.

I went last night near closing time and spoke with an apple manager. I explained what was going on in the morning this whole week. Also about some if the employees knowing them by name now. At first he was beating around the bush about the scalping. Also told him it's happening right in front if the stores or down the mall a little. Then after talking for awhile he admits that it is happening everywhere and the employees are instructed not to interfere with it. Only time they can interfere is if it's going on in the store itself. But the whole situation is out if their control and they are all pretty much paying cash no contracts.

As I really understand about making money but selling scalped phones but what about the people that want the experience of walking into the apple store, buying, setting up, and using their new phones. In all years past some scalping existed but this is the first year where is crazy everywhere.

----------

I look everyday serval times a day & Boca never has 6 or 6+'s. I went to store on Monday also, none. All the AT&T stores have none. Best Buy, none. Walmart never got any.

Boca does get 6 online but never in store during the day. The pluses are like Bigfoot. Anytime you ask they give you nope answer. If you ask when you now pretty much get sometime in the next months. Then give you the speech to reserve at 9-10 pm online or order and just wait your turn.

I agree, I've never seen it this bad in the past years, normally its been a pretty enjoyable experience and mostly painless, I might not make it Launch day, but the next day they would have plenty. Now its just a crap shoot to see if you can get to the property earlier then the resellers to maybe get lucky and find what you want.

I don't think the store managers or staff can really do anything unless it comes down from the big man, its a shame really, and you would think that the resale value has taken a bit of a dip since the phones been out a week already.

I wish that reserve 9-10 actually worked, but stock never shows up, and if it does its always a Sprint phone.

Read this from another thread.

Those are awfully sweet gifts for someone who makes $8 an hour. And yes, I'd say the same thing regardless of the race of the person in question. The whole story is just incredible; I don't get how she expects people to believe it.

I was actually in line on launch day with some people from immigrated from China recently, who were not resellers and they said they aren't huge in China for personal use but they are the ultimate gift to receive from someone. So it is a plausible story in my eyes that she did buy them for family. And they were hopping back in line which at least gave others a chance to buy a phone and wasn't a group of 10+ all from the same family buying everything from the front leaving no one else with a chance.

100 ppl at Florida mall in line. opening in one hour. Employees are walking and ask individually

That I can totally get--who wouldn't love to receive one as a gift? I know I would! I just found it a little implausible to believe the story of the woman in the article. She makes minimum wage and yet is purchasing multiple out-of-contract phones as gifts. Even if they were of the 16GB variety, that's still a significant chunk of change.

That's true, I guess I am just trying to see the light in some people.

Slept through my alarm this morning, didn't make it to Galleria. I'll have to go on Tuesday morning. Good luck to whomever else tried today.

Provlem is resellers in central Florida. Maybe the Altamonte location has less scalpers since its further away from the tourist areas.

But it's a known fact scalpers or even tourists themselves gobble up all the iPhone's since Apple products are generally cheaper to buy in USA than it is in other countries.

Resellers also buy them up and flip them to tourists. Some of those Brazilians come with loads of cash, willing to spend.

An admirable quality, to be sure! :) That's normally the tack I take as well; just a little sleepy and grouchy this morning.

And Florida Mall is *STUPID* with tourists. That'd be the last mall I'd try, personally. Were I still looking for a phone, I'd probably go Altamonte first and then Millennia.

No one seems to leave the line and employees still keep asking. Wonder if this means STOCK.

I will know soon.

So No 6+ but 6 64gb gold and 128 silver. Asked to get the t mobile. He said I could get the ATT paid full price and it is unlocked. I was really surprised about that. Said I had to remove att SIM and activate with other.

----------

Anyone can confirm me this about ATT?

----------

Maybe they decided to do this due to high tourists coming here. But it's a non sense.

Does anyone know a work around to get Target and AT&T Next.

Can you buy it on 2 year at Target and take it to AT&T to get it switched?
Do you have to activate it at Target?

Coconut Point

Leaving Coconut Point yet again with no iPhone 6 Plus. Today, they did have a few iPhone 6. But only Sprint and T-Mobile.

As far as scalpers. Don't get me started. I been there 3 mornings since Launch looking for an iPhone 6 Plus Space Gray AT&T. And it's the same 5-7 Indian women there. And I SAW them buy new phones on Launch Day. They were in front of me. The Plus were all SOLD OUT by the time they got to us on Launch. They all got 2 6's. The other day I saw one use a silver 6 Plus in line. So that was bought after launch. They all purchased multiple phones in one week. I've yet to get one! I realize the 6 Plus is scarce. But I got so pissed when they tried to cut in front of me today before reservations were handed out.

And of course even though there were no 6 Plus models they each reserved 2 6's. And I'm going home empty again

Oh did I mention they bring 3 4-5 yr old kids with them who throw temper tantrums!!'n

idevicechecker said target in sawgrass had ip+ 64 gig, and they didn't have any when I showed up. only had for ATT 16 gig, or verizon.

Target seems to only get 16 gig so the website is wrong.

Going to the Apple Store to try the ATT Next Pick up in store switcheroo in a few minutes, wish me luck.

As an observation, out of all the stock checkers, I have found the istocknow (http://www.istocknow.com/us#apple_store) to be the most accurate.

The seaturtle one didn't seem to change on a refresh but istock now shows stock coming and going all the time.

If the Apple Store won't let me switch to Next, I think I am done searching for awhile.

Haha, we're you the guy I was talking to this morning at target? I was hoping the mobile guy had a second box in the back.
