I have no need for a FM receiver. I'd rather listen to the music I put on my iPhone.

Listening to world radio can often be inspiring and throw up unusual music that you like and may never have had the chance to listen to otherwise.

Must admit though I go nowhere without my Pink Floyd collection!

Who thought the iPhone 3GS could transmit and receive FM radio signals? It CAN, but not the right frequencies used for audio FM radio. Sorry to burst your bubble, guys. :(

I would like to see an FM tuner added, gives us users another chance to listen to different music

You are simply wrong. The SGold3 baseband processor in the iPhone 3GS contain an FM transciever capable of transmitting and receiving FM radio signals in the appropriate spectrum. It is already used for the Nike+iPod feature. With the proper antenna and software, it would be perfectly capable of tuning FM Radio.

I would really love it if the next model did have a FM radio. The main reason is that I only listen to the radio when I want to list to the local football commentary. This cannot be done using any radio app since they use internet streams and the commentary is never licensed for this so the stream goes dead the only times I want to listen :(
