iPad and Vision Pro are wonderful devices, but ironically iPadOS and visionOS limits them to "baby software". Apple, if you are not listening to your customers (we want iPad and Vision Pro open for Mac-level software), please listen to Steve Jobs.

Pleased to see another indication that the Mini will get OLED before the Air, as the Air has had three refreshes in the last 5 years compared to the Mini’s two. Air users wanting OLED can also bypass the wait by upgrading to the Pro line whereas Mini buyers cannot. Given OLED is already on the phones and the size of the screen cited as the reason it was not cost effective for iPads to go OLED sooner, it makes sense for the 8.x” size to be the first to get it after the Pros.

An 8.5-inch OLED iPad mini is planned for a 2026 launch.

and the first gen will come with still 60hz in 2026

and then wait another 3 years for the 120 hz 😂

I want a foldable iPhone first that I can unfold into a large tablet, not a sodding foldable iPad that I can make into an even larger tablet🤦‍♂️

it's the best form factor yet. i doubt apple will do a 'foldable'* phone. maybe a 'flip'* to make it smaller, but not fold out as large as ipad mini (because i think they want to sell you two devices instead of one. * i use these terms as if they're samsung phones.

i think what makes sense for apple is make:
- ipad pro foldable and portable (eliminating its weakness).
- keep ipad mini as a budget alternative. also the standard ipad/ air.
- perhaps 'flip' phones to make the pro max more portable.

but i cannot see apple blending iphone and ipad into one device, as they would rather sell you two instead of one. and perhaps 2+ since you would pay for icloud to have the ecosystem for your two or more devices.

The so-called “iPhone Air” will be indeed the first Flip iPhone. Just connect the dots.
