the hardware seams to be more then comparable to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 - this is good so we can use both - I hope there is also a Dex-like mode on the iphone ultra, btw I could replace Apple Notes perfectly with Obsidian and Obsidian-Notes can be synchonized all over all - Apple Notes is very good but Obsidian is better.

multiple ways: icloud sync or sync over OneDrive / google drive, or pay the obsidian team for encrypted sync using their server ( what I did because I want to support them )

As I often alternate between my iPhone and iPad mini, the iPhone Ultra is very compelling in Apple’s product matrix.

Is there any awareness of how many open/close cycles the Ultra is estimated to have? I think I would open/close it with every use.

You might consider getting AC+. It will probably come in handy.

I miss Touch ID so much. I lie on my side in bed with my iPhone for a while before I fall asleep. Every time I need to authenticate I have to lift my head off the pillow and move around just right to get Face ID to work. Drives me crazy. Touch ID forever.

No seriously, I prefer TouchID if a device can only have either TouchID or FaceID.

But I do wish they would put both in their devices.

I still think the dimensions are stupid.
When folded i want it to be like an iPhone. not a fat square...

But then the inner screen would be a square, which isn’t great either, and the point of the foldable is precisely the inner screen.

The only way to have both is a trifold, which comes with its own issues.

My iPad 11 has this, and it’s perfectly fine. I do wish they hadn’t removed the home button, though. I still consider that to have been a mistake. 🤷‍♂️

The million dollar question is if it will support iPad-only apps, like Logic for iPad.

Pencil support also feels essential given the screen size and iPad mini supporting Pencil…

The touch id on the side of the z Fold works really well. I have multiple fingers programmed to unlock the phone, and they naturally hit the touch id spot when I pick up the phone. The downside is it is easy to accidentally hit the spot when I don't actually want to unlock it.

I am laughing at the comments in these various threads saying the foldable iPhone will "flop like the vision pro." This phone will be sold out very quickly, and people will be waiting months to get it. The Z Fold 8 demand was higher than Samsung could fulfill orders, and Apple will easily outdo them.
