Thanks. If that is the case with only a 15% increase, would it be better to use this, or to just turn hyperthreading off?

Turning it off or running like a second processor will net you the same 15% increase so it is your choice on which you decide to do if you want the boost. I've come to enjoy hyperthreading at work since it seems to provide some isolation between tasks.
