Honestly I went with both. I mean you can't go wrong that way. Folio when you don't need the keyboard and magic when you do, this way the back of the iPad is never exposed to damage.

You mean the Smart folio Cover? I believe the OP meant smart folio keyboard.
i also use the same combo like you by the way. Great combo. Even works with my coverbuddy case on.

I’ve read lots of comments here. I like what people say about the AMK and how it’s so easy to slide out and use the iPad as a true tablet. When you do that, do you worry the back of iPad would be scratched? Is there a way to protect the back of the iPad when you remove it from the AMK like a film or something that does not interfere with the magnets of the AMK?

Also, with the AMK can you use it laying down in bed to watch movies without having to hold the iPad?

Yes, there are may “skins” or “wraps” (Stickers) available that can cover your iPad and protect it from scratches. I use it for my IPP and works great with both the FKB and MKB.

Yes, you can bring the MKB to bed and watch movies hands-free.

I’m trying to resist the magic keyboard because after I got my 11 inch pro I upgraded my MacBook Air. I came from an 11 inch MBA to a 13 inch MacBook air. So now my MacBook is significantly bigger than my iPad. So I kind of want to keep my iPad as an iPad. However having said that I used the Smart Keyboard for my old 10.5 inch pro for 2.5 years and just before I upgraded I bought the Logitech combo case with track pad so I got a taste for the trackpad lol

So for now my compromise set up is the smart keyboard paired with the Magic Trackpad 2.

I‘m going to hold off on the magic keyboard for as long as I can.
