Fried clams: they were one of the staples down at the boardwalks of Coney Island when I was new to NYC and sampling all the culinary adventures during a summer spent in Brooklyn with a friend from college. Tried those things once and decided you could easily dip rubber bands in egg and breadcrumbs and pass them off as fried clams too. No thanks!

Somehow I have managed to escape that experience. Plan to keep on keepin' on escaping it.

LOL spot on.

Also sushi, hot dogs and pasta

Anything made with curry and/or caraway.
Sea cucumber.

Love curry.

And caraway - though only in certain dishes (goulash, some hard cheeses).

Eggplant. I’m on the fence about okra.

Adore eggplant.

And blue cheese - live wouldn't be worth living without blue cheese.

Never eaten sushi because I don't like the idea of it.
Peanut butter makes me want to throw up.
Wine. Red or white. Not a fan.

Red and white wine.........

This is the very meaning of life.

Now, coca-cola and similar soft drinks do not much appeal to me.

Off the top of my head:

Nutella - ****ing disgusting is what it is. It's a vehicle for sugar and palm oil delivery. There is no redeeming quality. And Italian company called Rigoni di Asiago makes a chocolate hazelnut spread that's real and tastes real. Worth every penny. And, IIRC, @AustinIllini is somehow related to the founders.

Donuts - Very hit or miss for me. Usually a miss. I tend to have these once or twice a years at most.

I don't like jello or fruit gelatines much but I do like a good mousse.

I'll think of more once my splitting headache subsides.

I'm always surprised when I see how limited some people's food choices are ... my wife and I eat everything, we're sort of foodies, we certainly wouldn't limit the human experience :D

(Side note: there are definitely some foods being posted that aren't - by the title of the thread - "popular" by any measure ... :p)

Yes, stopped consuming these about 30 years ago. Great decision on my part. Wasn't a huge fan then to be frank. I do like a naturally or non-naturally carbonated mineral or seltzer here and there if I need something with gas.

Okra ..... no ... it's just vegetable snot.

Jaternice .... Czech blood sausage ....Don't explore this further ...... Brings back bad memories from my childhood. (fortunately it's not popular , haven't seen it sold from food trucks in NYC EVER)

Had brains, and ... other parts ... the latter were delicious. :D I used to hit up this terrific Jewish deli and get a tongue sandwich :)

Thought that's all probably outside of popular in the context of this thread :p

Really? I find that amazing, it's such dramatically different food, any one or even two ... but pasta? Do you eat bread?

It is. LOL I love tongue. I like both the Hispanic take on it (lengua) and the traditional Jewish recipes. We don't have many of those here and it's usually a must, at least twice, when I'm in NYC. I like the calf's stones, so to speak, cooked slowly in butter. Draw the water out. Some salt, pepper, bit of garlic, maybe some thyme. Crusty bread. Beautiful. Rocky Mountain style isn't bad provided the breading is light and the pieces are chunky.

Comparatively, I don't like pastrami much. Used to think it was the color but I have no qualms consuming medium-rare or rare beef. Even had it blue and didn't mind.

Ranch dressing
Mayonnaise
Honey mustard

Add Thousand Island. Ketchup/Catsup.

Big chain pizza. Big chain sandwich shops (these are probably more abhorrent than the big chain pizzas).

I legitimately have a deadly cancer called "Gourmand Syndrome"

just remember that if people make you sick, maybe you need to cool them longer..................

LOL you are seriously bad... One of my great grandfathers was a large animal veterinarian out west. He liked his Sunday roasts cooked well done, unlike most the rest of the family. Used to stick a knife in the roast and holler down the table at great-grandma "dammit woman I've cured critters sicker than this!"
