in NY with 10.000 you get half a year tution+various expenses.

and i'm sure the tattoo will go down very well in the school interview and with the parent's association of a privvy.

if find this equally or even more morally reprehensible than (temporarily) selling your body the old fashion way.

and how much the therapy his son will need because of this stunt will cost her?

I don't wanna be rude here, but she looks ridiculous with that tattoo. It's almost comical.

That's the point! She looks silly and made us look!

I believe there's other ways to earn money for your kid (like working hard)

I'm willing to bet that she didn't think about that. ;)

Holy geebus...I'm a damn queen.

I'm making the point that this woman did this right in front of her kid AND it's for a freaking online casino...yet some people would say that gays shouldn't be allowed to adopt or have kids...

This has NOTHING to do with gays allowing to adopt or have kids.

Average lifespan of a woman in the US: 78 years
Current age of this lady: 30 years
Time on earth left with a website tattoo'd on her dome: 48 years

$10,000 / 48 years = $208.33 (repeating of course) / year

Nice. Good move.

Yes, this is perfect! $208.33/year won't cover much!!!

Go Bruce Lee!

It's not the tattoo shop's job to tell her what to think. The tattoo shop owner had a right to express his/her feelings about the situation and to try to make sure that the woman was making an informed decision, but I mean if she wants the tattoo then that's her business.

Yes but it's also that shops business who and what they tattoo. If a neo-nazi goes into a shop and ask for a big swastika tattooed on their chest a lot of shops will tell him to take a hike.

Look at it this way, Gary: if you hadn't brought it up, you never would have known for sure that "being gay is absolutely morally justified" (per Mozer's affirmation).

P.S. For what it's worth, I got the joke too. ;)

honestly if i were rich i would have put the 10,000 dollars down for her forehead to say something like "I love bananas"

or something else weird,

I agree, if only I was rich, but I do think 'I love banana hammocks' would have been a little funnier.

You're right it doesn't. But iGary makes an excellent point. This women is obviously not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Which makes the point, how come she could adopt a kid. Yet, many people make a fuss if a well adjusted, intelligent gay male or female attempts to adopt.

I for one, would rather have homosexual parents who know that tattooing an internet address on your forehead is foolish then a (single?) mother who didn't.

I think the 'sarcasm' (used loosely and somewhat off-topic) was a stretch here. It was the first mention of gay adoption and (iGary) to be honest i thought it was a pretty crazy remark, but i just didn't realize where you were coming from or what this thread had to do with adoption. I don't usually determine people to be gay (or adopters) or not on these threads; It doesn't really matter to me.

Maybe i need to be in touch with 'gayness'? :p

"Holy geebus...I'm a damn queen." <---- i think that would have made a great tattoo! :D

Mmmm, foot.
****ing hilarious! ... just glad it wasn't me.

You crack me up every day, I had a beer with a high profile MR member last night, I told that person you and chip are on my buy a beer list. I love reading your posts!

I would get my head tattooed for $1,500,000, but nothing less than that. There are some things more important than money, but everyone has their limit.

Definitely. I mean what gay parent would ever go to such lengths just to pay for a year of private school? ;)

Ok, ... i know you're probably joking, but now that's just stereotyping. it's one thing to support gay rights (meaningless ... rights are only declerations of legal actions for ALL people; leagality is meaningless as it's a reformation and perversion of societies common annoyances), but nobody's perfect. I'm sure there are many bad gay parents, but to admit so give the right more ammo for thier fight. bad move.

if everyone was ok with people being a gay ... a gay person declaring thier right to be gay would just look like a moron (just as if i went into the street and declared my straightness). as it stands the only people you're talking to are the one's that have a problem with it; and it's just pissing them off. they intern do something stupid as well.

"just stop it ... just stop it right now!" that's all i gotta say.

*i still don't make the connection between being gay and this thread ... throw away prejudice and its meaningless ranting.

Reminds of the game Fallout 2, where you got SLAVER tattooed on your forehead when you entered tribal villages and sold them as slaves to your employer. Hell you could even sell your wife into slavery.

People never really liked you in the game after that though. But then you could smash kids' skulls in with a crowbar. God I love that game.

But that's a bit off topic. She should bet the 10 000$ in the casino, now that would be a challenge.

What a moron. She is a perfect candidate for a darwin award

10k will pay for the kid's uniforms and a down payment on a harry potter backpack, sledgehammer bicycle and an ipod mini.
