when Kelly says about the new Life Form found on Titan, she says:
"we have found microorganisms on Titan to be base on methane not on Carbon like on earth."

BUT - methane, not carbon” is nonsense, because methane is one of the simplest carbon compounds.

maybe the wanted to say “The microorganisms are not water-based like life on Earth; they use liquid methane as their solvent/habitat.”

in several scenes you can spot the Apple Logo on its back ... maybe the future Pro Big Mac(x)

We are to believe that hurricane Katrina would have only been a tropical storm if only the communists planted their flag first? Just dumb.

Abundant helium-3 from the moon (it’s a thing) encouraged the development of cheap fusion power which replaced fossil fuels in the alt-1990s and cut CO2 levels, slowing global warming. It was covered in previous seasons (and the extra “newsflashes” that fill in the gaps), including the political/economic fallout of displacing oil/coal workers.

I guess its just an iteration of the Newtons, so in this world there are no iPhones just Newtons.

Actually that’s a bit of quiet genius - advances in electronics ~1980s make the Newton a hit and gives it a monopoly, so development loses momentum, the iPhone never happens and by 2012 it’s looking a bit clunky. Quite believable.

the distance from our actual timeline make any of the scientific challenges too easy to overcome and aren’t really part of the story.

Yes, it seemed like getting humans to Titan by refitting the old Mars ship (which only got to Mars by the skin of its teeth) was simple and only “dramatic” because of idiotic planning. At least the idiotic planning was acknowledged, though.

…and the surface of Titan didn’t seem nearly inhospitable enough. Those spacesuits obviously ran on magic rather than thermodynamics.

(I can recommend Steven Baxter’s “Titan” as a better - but thoroughly depressing - story, including one strangely similar scene… Of course, the whole show owes something to Baxter’s “Voyage”)

Oh no, I get it. I just can't suspend my understanding that the destructive force of that storm had much to do with people's response or lack thereof.
