Reminders looks like ass with mismatched garish colors. Calendar app font is way too thin. Multiple colors on contacts are ugly. The bright yellow on top of notepad is too bright with too much white. The red music icon looks awful. The whole damn thing looks way too much like Windows mobile with too thin a font, too much white space, too small an icon target within apps like the dialer. Garish colors that seem to have no relation to each other. The whole thing looks terrible. I've should stick to designing hardware because this is a mess. It's also a reminder that if you don't like something Apple does you are stuck with it.

Well, I was really only asking about the icons. But ok.

And you're never "stuck" with anything. No one is forcing you to buy it and if you must, you can always jailbreak. I imagine with all the people acting like their life is over because of this, a 'fix' is already being worked on by the jb community.

I've complained about the icons. Perhaps if the colors were muted a tad I could live with them.

Anything you could consider "neon" should be toned down. Those greens are ridiculous.

I'm all for a new look if it's smart. Right now I don't think we're there yet.

Dislike:

Videos - It's time to get rid of that Clapperboard. When I see it, I think video editing, not consuming video. To be completely honest Apple should take the Trailers app icon and make it flat and use it for Videos. Might as well merge Trailers and Video together as well.

Messages - Should look like OS X's Messages app icon. Two chats bubbles and the top on as 3 dots.

Camera - Should have just left it alone.

Reminders - Just doesn't look good. Doesn't even look like it's an app icon for a task list.

Newsstand - Like GoGurt said really bad clipart.

Mail - Just looks weird

Safari - Was it necessary to put the notches? If you take the notches away it isn't too bad.

Settings - Mixed feelings

Some of the icons look too dull before I put iOS7 on my phone. Now I feel they are mostly fine. But I hate the folder look. Really does not fit with rest of the icons. Also the dock looks ugly too.

All of them? Some of them? A couple specific ones?

Some of them are HUGE improvements (Photos, Game Center, Camera, Compass). Some not necessary but still cool (Notes, Settings, Reminders), and then a lot have not even really changed much at all (Music, Video, Maps, Mail, etc).

I also like the new retro Newsstand. It fits better with the scheme and does not stick out like a sore thumb like the current one. Passbook for that matter as well.

Safari, sure. It is a bit weird. Maybe if they changed the white border a bit. Calendar is kind of weird looking on a non-retina screen.

I don't like the safari one cause it has white and is square. The calendar app also has white with black letters and it annoys me(I might go android). The photo icon has white and lots of other colors that look like a flower and I hate flowers. The compass app is black and I also hate black so its uglier than the white ones. The music icon would be ok if it only said Phat beats on it......but it doesn't so its ugly. Voice memo app is white and only black so it also isn't very nice. I hate all of them so much that I could cry. I want them to look and act exactly like android 4. something or iOS 3.:D

There have been many good opinions in this thread as to which icons should be changed, for sure. But the majority of the other threads sound a lot like this.

FlatIcons icons and keyboard > iOS 7

I use it on my jailbroken iPhone 5 and its beautiful.

I agree with you completely. I'm usually all for bright colors but this is really too much. Also, the Settings icon is...oh my.

Looking back at the settings icon - it was clever. It looked like you were looking at gears inside of the phone. It was a smart visual pun and when you received an update, the gears spun.

The new settings icon is a single odd looking gear with two sets of teeth.

Upon a quick glance it looks like either a smoke detector or a bathroom fan.

I was thinking bathroom fan too.

The worst offenders, IMHO, are Game Center which is just colored blobs on white, Calendar which has too light text, and Reminders and Notes which are too empty.

I still think they will change before iOS 7 goes GM. But if they don't we'll get used to most of them. Though I'll hide Game Center as soon as I upgrade ;)
