I love that the map is displayed on the lockscreen along with the next directions and it turns on when the next direction is coming up.

My girlfriend and I have been traveling in Utah this past week and a half. iOS 6 turn-by-turn voice navigation has been perfect for us so far.

Siri is pretty much dead to me. I wish I could say the name SIRI and it wakes up. I dont have a BT. I also ask it to open an app, say WAZE, my traffic app. It cant recognize it. It pauses for a while when asking for a simple request like where am i or what is the temperature? It seems to also drain the battery much sooner as well.

I love the built-in Turn by Turn map feature in iOS 6. I use it a lot in Houston and it works extremely well. I love how elegant it is and the simplicity. And when used with Siri for voice commands, wow! I love my iPhone and iOS 6 and the new Apple maps. It just keeps getting better. Thank you Apple for making my life easier one day at a time.

I agree with the ones who like the new maps. I don't get what all of the criticism is about, the old one was so lame and was a sad excuse for a navigation system with no turn by turn directions. Plus the 3D views and flyovers are really cool. I don't get the negative press Maps are getting, even from people who haven't tried it yet!

I have Navigon but prefer Maps interface

I hate the interface of Navigon. The exit button is buried in nested menu. If you changed your mind after navigation started and don't exit Navigon properly (hard to do while you are driving. Hitting the home botton or switching to another app will leave Navigon running in the background) it will continue and drain your battery really fast.

Entering search information into it is a pain. You have to enter each field in reversed order: state, city, street, number. Search for a POI is a pain: you have to select a category for the POI first. Often I give up and use the Google search option within it. It's not intuitive to use an address in your address book either.

Apple's Maps is a breath of fresh air with Siri integration. I got in the car on Saturday morning with 15 minutes to drive to a restaurant to for a birthday brunch that was about 20 minutes away. I asked Siri for directions to restaurant_name and in a few seconds I got turn by turn directions. I have uses Maps for only a few times so far but it worked flawlessly for me every time. I love the clean look of it.

Sure, I find Navigon lane assist useful at times, but I can get by by reading the signs myself. I think Apple's Maps is a really nice product and for where I live it is accurate so far. And I am sure it will get better.
