What are your charge cycles? Every night? Charge it to 100%, and then take it off? What do you guys do? I'm curious.

I figured. I got 8 hours of usage yesterday which I thought wasn't bad but I see people with a lot better

Down to 30% with about 4.5 hours of usage consisting mostly of Twitter, Safari, and Messages. Then I see people getting 9-10 hours at 1% with heavy use and some gaming and I wonder what I'm doing wrong.

There are times where I don't charge is for a few days. Still get rather good battery life out of it.

Well, the Plus has 2x the battery size. I mean, that's probably why. I got 8 hours the first time and I used it heavily

I charge all night. Unplug at 7:20 in the morning. At 66% percent right now and I haven't charged it. And that's because I'm typing in this thread with my phone and refreshing every minute on my fantasy football app. And all morning I was playing music non stop. Love my iPhone 6 plus

I wake up at 4:15am, play with my phone all day, then go to bed around 10am each day. At bedtime, I'm at about 25%. That's the life of having a Plus. I charge "overnight" then.

I charge overnight. Non stop heavy usage I get 13 hours. On a normal workday (can't take my phone to work) I have 40-50% when I lay back down.

6 plus

Yeah I know. I love the Plus. The battery and the screen alone IMO is worth it. I mean if you think about it it's almost the size of an iPad mini and the mini gets like what, 10 hours? I wonder how these batteries will hold up over time

iPhone 6. Unplugged at 100% at 8:15am... Decent amount of LTE usage throughout the day (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, texting, safari, spotify, youtube, etc..) and as of right now (10:05pm) I'm sitting at 51%. Pretty happy. My 5 wasn't even lasting three hours anymore

I charge it every night to 100% no matter what. Even if there's more than half the battery left I still throw it on the charger overnight.

I asked a genius tech who recently replaced my iPhone 5 battery similar questions.

He said #1: it doesn't matter if you use an iPad charger to charge an iphone, "it will scale down the power"

#2: it doesn't matter if you leave it on the charger past 100% once it's fully charged.

#3: he said the batteries are rated in their cycles. So to not use as many cycles over the life of the phone, wait til the battery is close to 10% or lower to fully recharge.

FWIW I am using the 6 plus with #3 in mind and will see how my battery is in 1.5 years.

You can plug the phone in anytime you like. Cycles isn't how many times the battery is charged to 100%. It's how many times you have charged, equalling 100%, collectively.

If you have 90% battery and charge to 100%, this isn't one full cycle. It is 10% of a cycle so you don't need to drain low, then charge.

Still do.

It gives me more buffer at the end of the day if I use the phone heavily compared to the 5s, but it wouldn't make it through the next day if I don't charge it.

I charge my iPhone 6 every other night. Just like my iPhone 5.

Unless I'm doing something different during my usage time that really drains the battery. This morning I charged my phone at 20% after 2 days since my last full charge.

Charge my 6 every night when I go to bed and take it off at 7 the next morning. It's not needed any topping up in between that time with heavy usage of Facebook, snapchat, whatsapp and general browsing, not really a game playing type of guy but gives an idea of usage/battery drain. My 5s would have been dead by about 5-6pm under the same usage pattern, so I'm happy enough with the 6 over the 6plus as I wanted the smaller device.

I usually charge mine every night. On some occasion I just skip a night. Short charging is good.

Besides the fact that I'm usually at about 30-40% at bed time, there's another huge reason I charge every night; iCloud backup. Three requirements for automatic iCloud backup: device locked, connected to wifi, connected to charger.

I've been charging the same iPad nightly since April, 2010, and my iPhone 4 since mid-2011. I've yet to see a noticeable drop in battery life in all that time, on either unit.

iT just works. These aren't your grandfather's nicad-based rechargeables.
