I'm in no means saying that the 5 or 5s or 6 were bad devices. I'm just saying the iPhone 6s is a different kind of beast and is well worth the upgrade from whatever phone you have ...

It just amazes me how people justify the 6S is the greatest iPhone of all time and that the upgrade is the most significant ever.

And I have owned every single iPhone (iPhone 2007-current 6S)

It's because they live in the world today (October 2015)

But u have to rewind history back to October 2013 and history back than said the 5S was the best upgrade of all time for iPhone.

Rewind back to November 2011. Same thing said about iPhone 4S. At first people were disappointed it looked the same. But the 4S went from single core to duo core. Just an absolute monster of an upgrade with duo core.

When you state opinions. U must not rewrite history. You must travel back in time and look at the consensus opinion back than.

Let's look at iPad Air 2 performance. It has 3 cores and 2Gb ram. One task that require multiple cores. iPad Air 2 with its A8X processor performs better than the A9 2015 processor. So 3 cores is better than 2 cores when running task that require it even if the processor is older (both iPhone 6S and iPad Air 2 have same exact 2GB ram).

I understand what you're saying. I do, but every iPhone that comes out is going to be better then that of the previous iPhone. It's guaranteed. If it isn't then Apple is going to lose a lot of money...

That said... Of course 3 cores are better then 2, but doesn't the 6s outperform the iPad Air 2 on single core? Does this mean the A8X is a better chip then the A9. I thought the A9 was the fastest mobile SoC on the planet?

Lol by nature of the iPhone upgrades, it technically is the greatest iPhone of all time. I get that people like to boast about the latest iteration and sometimes exaggerate, but hey people will get excited over the latest and greatest! However, while I wouldn't call this upgrade the biggest/most substantial, I will call it the most sufficient or maybe even efficient one.

The word "snappy" has been thrown around a lot here and is often associated with Apple products, but I think this is the first time I can personally use the word to describe their latest phone. I remember plenty of threads from the get-go talking about underwhelming performance issues with the 5S and the 6/6+, possibly the 5 but I can't remember that far back. The individual features of this phone certainly didn't WOW me but when it all came together the performance of this phone definitely reminded me why I like iPhones. I went from the 4S to 6S+ and I was just as impressed now as I was when I got my 4S.

Now the iPhone is up to speed IMO in terms of hardware (and needs to stay at this pace), it's time to address the software issues.

For the same amount of money, I can get these two phones. Which one should I get? Of course, answer and vote based on which one you like better.

A.) iPhone 6s (new) 64 GB

B.) iPhone 6 Plus (used) 64 GB with just over a year of AppleCare+ remaining

Basically, same storage, same warranty remaining, but speed and force touch vs size. Thanks!

I would get the 6S and then add the AppleCare plus to it myself. You have 60 days from the date of purchase to add it and the phone has only been out a month now so at the most is a month old.

Plus it's faster speed wise with the processor and ram.

Ofcourse it's worth the upgrade, but I was responding to your claim that the 6 and 5s neither had something to claim at their release. Maybe not the 6 (the A8 is basically an A7 on steroids), but the A7 was really spectacular when it was released.

I have both the 6+ and a 6S. Feel little difference in daily use, one thing is obviously more RAM since it handles things inredibly smooth and fast where the 6+ here and there shows some stutters..

I use the 6+ as my second phone, so I am not dependet on battery life. If I had to choose only one I would probably go for a 6S+ with no less than 64GB!

Yes I agree with you. The A8 was basically the A7 but a lil stronger...

Spectacular post. This is what I've been trying to say, but was using the wrong words I guess.

I'm in no way downing the 5,5s, or 6,but when it comes to out of the box performance in my eyes it's blows them out of the water.

The iPhone actually did run good out of the box. As I believe iOS 6 was the peak of iOS, but I still believe that the 6s is even better then it in terms of performance. I'm not saying faster of course every iPhone is faster. I'm saying as far as running fluid the 6s is a different kind of beast then the 5,5s and 6.

I had lag issues my entire year with the 6 as I had wished I kept my 5s the entire time. The 6 had all the reload issues with apps and safari... The 6s has none of this stuff... It just feels as though Apple's hardware has caught up

I am loving my 6s! Seems a tad faster, but not really a big deal from the 6. I don't really use that force touch either (yet).

I did buy the used 6+ for my wife to try out (got it for $500.00 on craigslist...it's mint with box and unused accessories and the AC+). If she thinks its too big, I'll swap her back to the "regular" 6.

The 6+ is really cool, but I hate that you can't cram in more icons on the home screen...why not 5 columns and 7 rows? There's plenty of space for it!

Wife is still on the fence about the 6 vs 6+. How long does it take to decide of you like it or not??? I want to sell one of them already.

I recently just got a company phone (6s) while I had a 6 plus. And it is taking some time to get use to the smaller size of the 6s.

Notes on the 6+:
- Battery life is significantly better on the 6+
- Screen resolution, I can read more line of text on the 6+
- I upgraded to iOS 9 and immediately downgraded back to 8.4 as it was really slow

Notes on the 6s:
- Biggest improvement is Touch ID, so much faster reading my finger
- Much faster and smoother in just performing day to day tasks (email, multi-task, browsing, etc.) the extra RAM really helps
- 3D touch works for some apps and does provide a "short cut" feeling in perform task like calling someone (hold and tap on the person u call the most without going into ur favorite contact)
- Around 7pm I am looking for a charge (15% life left)

I know its not an apple to apple comparison but you kind of get the idea. If my company didnt have a price limit I would of got the 6s plus (64GB) instead of 6s (64GB)

Personally I have a 6 Plus as my personal phone and a 6s as my company device and I don't see any real difference in performance. I actually prefer my Plus to the 6s, but that's mainly due to screen size and battery life. Again, YMMV.

The 6 Plus has arguably the best battery I've ever had in a smartphone.
