Awesome! You won't have to go out in the rain. Ya know I still have a MacBook from like 15 years ago. It comes in handy when my newer devices won't jive with certain websites software, so I pull out that old thing and it works like a charm.

You never know when you’ll need it! I kept hold of my 8 as a back up when needed. I still have my very first iPhone, a black 3GS! I’ll take a side by side shot next to the Air tomorrow 😃

I assume you’re not in the US? Iirc, the iPhone 8 didn’t have eSIM so that’s going to be an issue if moving around service.

So glad I ordered the Air. This was my thought when they announced they were going back to all aluminum 😳 the screen is pushed up too.

Thank you vroom2 for originally posting.

You can say that again. Sometimes I wonder who Apple is trying to please, regular customers or tech reviewers.

On battery, I don't think power users will be happy with the battery regardless.

BTW, MKBHD said the box for the air IS different, it's thinner, go figure, lol.
Yeah I think Tech Reviewers that shoot lots of footage and do daunting task will never be happy. I am more interested in the typical person using it for social media scrolling, reels, and games like Pokemon Go. I feel if it last nearly as long as they say then I can look past the camera and possible speaker but I am torn. I just love that base 17 blue.

I can get a free base 17 model when I trade my 15PM in, or I can pay $8.30 a month like I was for my 15PM for the Air. I loved my PM but Tmobile switching up trade in for higher plans and such and I refuse to pay 20-30 a month for a phone. Plus I think the Pros look horrible.

I’m in the UK. I’m staying with the sae mobile company, all I have to do is activate my eSIM and they’ll transfer my current phone number across. Let’s hope it’s that simple lol

I was refering more to transferring the SIM from your 16PM (iirc)? to the 8.

Can't transfer the eSIM from a US iPhone 16PM to a pSIM-only iPhone 8 without a visit to the carrier.

My watch arrives in the next hour (DPD) but they’re using DHL for the phones so there’s no time window yet, and even if/when there is it’s not even reliable :’(

Edit: phones arriving 2-3pm

Just tried the Air and the Pro at the store. And frankly, I thought I was going to be more impressed with the Air. It's just quite tall, so the Pro it is. I really don't see a lot of benefit in this phone.

I kinda wanted to like it, I'm a sucker for design and engineering, but honestly the Pro feels so good too, so for me I don't really see the point of the Air. I just thought I'd like it more, it's really too tall and I prefer smaller phones

So was it mainly the size? I guess the main draw of the Air is the size, because beyond that it's a inferior phone.

For me, I'm use to the pro max and so a 6.5" screen feels the sweet spot. Might just work for me.

That said, I saw a review of the silver Pro Max yesterday and I was expecting the old macbook style finish and feel but it actually looks super nice. I'm torn, except I ordered the Blue Pro Max to chose between.

I'm sure apple are going to have soooo many returns and exchanges this year.

The Air really is great to hold compared to my 16 PM, not only how light it is for the size but how thin it is really makes it feel different from using another phone.

Just a quick one about the batteries. The white one looks really nice:

Kuulaa Power Bank Ultra Slim (5000mAh)
110g. 7.5w
103 x 68 x 6.9

The grey one was supposed to be 6.5mm (but is more like 7.1 or 7.2mm), Qi2 and 15W, but although it does register as a battery so probabaly is Qi2, it only charges at 7.5W. Decided to return it, even though it does charge airpods and apple watch too, while the white one doesnt.

Just picked up the Air in Space Black. It feels so much better in the hand than the 16 Pro + slightly larger screen. Compared to the Pro Max I tried in the store, it feels much more premium and innovative.

To provide a counter experience, I was absolutely wowed by the Air the moment I took it out of the box. It felt and still feels insanely light and thin, more so than I was expecting. Combined with the premium feel of the polished titanium, this is the nicest iPhone Apple has ever made as far as I’m concerned.

Battery has been equally impressive, the camera is perfectly fine, and the speaker is more than loud enough for my use. I have zero regrets with this buy, and for a user like me, Apple has struck the absolute perfect balance of compromises.

Really really tempted to upgrade from
14 PM to Air. My worries are about battery life and camera, but it’s fuc*ing stunning in hands!

It is stunning and pictures don’t do it justice. I held the 17 promax orange in my left hand and the iPhone Air my right hand yesterday and wow the promax actually looks like a brick now a real brick is amazing so for me the air carrying it around it’s gonna be more than enough that I will ever need minus all the weight….
