Speed appears unchanged. This is pretty much the same speed I've been getting at my house since I bought my iPhone3G about six weeks ago.

I don't even have 3G where I live, but my EDGE signal doesn't seem to have improved :p. My keyboard lag is gooonnne gone gone now, I had gotten so used to it and now that it's fixed it's weird haha

My battery life sucks now. Seriously Does not even last a whole day. Im talking about hours. here. thats with only 3g on and very little calls.

Um, the update just came out today, so how can you even speculate about a whole day's use. You've also been playing with this alot today. Give it at least one day before you come out saying it won't even last a day.

Can anyone expand on the 10 attempts and password wipe this update does? I'm hearing alot of different things. Is it true after 10 attempts the phone wipes out and is unlocked? WTF?? I'm hearing similar comments about Blackberries doing this. You've got to be kidding! Thieves are drooling over this if it's true.

QUICK NOTE

alot of people are saying that there ammount of 3G/EDGE coverage has changed... it hasnt.

the iphone is just showing the signal more acuratly. the speed will (should) be the same as it was.

Actually my speed on 3G increased by 200 K/bs Going from 330 to 530.

Speed of Backup and App Install or Update

I was taking 4 hours to do a (incremental) backup. And about 15 minutes to install or update an application. I have about 50 apps installed on a 3G iPhone.

Now backups are taking 45 seconds, and app install about the same.

BIG improvement. Thanks apple...

Too early to tell

For now I do get better 3G signals in area I didn't get 3G signal.

No change in EDGE signal.

10 errors and iPhone wipe is GREAT function. Most people are more worried about compromising personal data over loosing physical iPhone. It will be nice if there was "remote wipe" like Blackberry on BB server, but this will do for security. If they implemented "remote wipe" over ME service, that would have been enough for me subscribe to ME service (as I hate password keypad).

Will see how stable 2.1 iPhone OS is over next few days of use.
