For those who ordered the ATI 4850....

i dunno what to tell you... i cant track mine myself because i ordered through a company called westworld... but i have had some problems with them mistakenly calling me and telling me my computer was there... so i had a long talk with the manager and today he tracked down my computer for me from apple... and they say its in shipping and i should have it by the 15th! which was my original delivery date anyways... 6 weeks from the date purchased!!

So it does appear to be completely random for who gets their iMacs sooner than expected..
 
Shipping info..

I ordered mine March 17th, shipping has not changed, still April 21st and delivery is April 23rd. I also still have not had my credit card charged.

Well, remember I didn't actually complete my order that might change once I hit the confirm button :) - all I am saying is that Apple is now quoting shorter ship dates than before. I also configured the 3.06 with basically only the ATI card and software not much in the way of BTO. I hope they ship yours soon!

True, but I did call :apple: again and they told me the same thing... Well, it took him a long time to get to it, but after telling me the delay was because of the configuration (4850) he finally said that they are shipping in the order sequence. I told him that is not what I am seeing. He said I cannot go by the rumor boards, but, in the end he did cut me a concession. So I continue to wait..... I really have to get a life..... Now off to the local hardware store where the guy overcharged me for an item I just purchased.... Not my day I guess......;)
 
Apple shipped my imac today! :D
It's a surprise, it was "shipping on april 22" 'till yesterday. It should arrive before april 17... so glad of this ;)

I just got an email from Apple.... iMac has SHIPPED!!!!
I only checked this morning on the store and it hadn't changed from 24th

I was so excited when i saw the email ... since its a 4 day weekend due to easter it says it will arrive on or before 14th ... it was originally due to be delivered on 24th.

OMG!!! i cannot wait.... never been so excited about a computer before .... sad really :D

(in uk btw and ordered about 3 days after announcement and its a 2.93)
 
It's slightly irritating that people who are ordering in late March and had later shipment dates are getting their shipped before the Announcement day and early March orders...

...I feel there is no method to their madness! In the end, I'm glad they are shipping and not delaying further...gotta stay positive in these hard times :p

I have not seen a confirm on a shipment of the 3.06. I cannot believe there is any shortage of them. At this point, who knows.... But waiting on someone to confirm the shipment of a 3.06...
 
Anyone in North America gets the shipping confirmation directly from Apple yet? Except those who didn't order on Apple store. So far, we've seen many people in Europe got their iMac shipped, but no one in US nor Canada. Someone mentioned that ours will be shipped from states, could that be the reason for delay? :(

I ordered on March 5th, it's a 2.93 Ghz.

This is a really interesting predicament... I wish we could just get solid facts about what actually is going on. But hey, suspense will just make us love our iMacs even more when they get here. Or force us to be put in a mental institution... I think the latter will come first for me.
 
I ordered 2.93GHz with ATI from Powermax.com in Portland. And Im living Turkey. I send e-mail now and they give me an answer this;

"I am sorry but Apple is way back ordered on those iMacs with that card so they tell me yours will ship to us on May 4, 2009."

I would not believe anything they say now, Apple or second party store....

So we wait for the confirm to show up in our email.

Yes you're probably right but thats guys best customer service I ever seen in my life.
 
Out of curiosity...

As far as I know, Apple does not manufacturer its iMacs in the US. If they ship from US to US and Canada, do they originate in China? It almost sounds that way...:confused:
