I mostly use mine to fit a lot of music on. I don't like MP3s so I still buy CDs and rip them using Apple Losless which takes up quite a bit of space. I usually try to leave about 6-10 GBs free for games I might want or for the countless pics and videos I take of my kids. I tried using Match at one point so I could have all of my music (so I wouldn't have to pay for the 128 GB phone) and the quality difference was so bad I switched back immediately. I'll never go back to anything else!

Can you really tell a difference on an iPad?

Absolutely. The better your headphones, the easier it is to tell. I'm using the Polk Audio Ultrafocus 8000s. Match makes things sound muddy and blah compared to using the lossless files.

I've just added some tv shows today and have about 30GB left. Will be full after I add some more tv shows and movies.

First time I've had a 128GB iOS device so going to make use of it!

On my 128 gig iPad Air 2

27.0 used
87.0 available

6.4 gigs in photos, and then a lot of games over 1 gig. I got the 128 because I plan to keep this iPad for at least 3-4 years. I don't think that I'll use it all, and I think 64 would've been fine, but I really don't want to feel trapped.

Most people ordered the 128gb. To future proof it and it was the option for cellular. When my iPP comes in I plan to load it with about 50gb of apps , movies , photos and music. By next summer I might have 60-70 gb used. My iPP is cellular capable but I want everything on it. It will be my notebook for my life. Work ,play and travel. 64gb. Would have been a okay option for me but I purchased a 128gb surface pro 3 earlier this year. I currently have 20 gb free. Obviously Windows OS is larger than iOS. 32 gb should not have been a option. The tier should of been 64gb,128gb,and 256gb if Apple really wants it to be a PRO.

When you say using match are you downloading the music or allowing it to stream? I hear a difference between the two on headphones. Bluetooth or plugged in in my car I really don't like listening to streaming Apple Music but downloaded sounds really good. I have high quality over cellular checked.

i went 32gb. our various iphoto libraries are almost 500gb total, so its not like 128gb would have made much difference. so its icloud and nas for now, we have 1gbps fiber which will help.

i just hope apps dont become a problem in a year or two, before i sell/upgrade. the one thing i didn't think about, was how awesome garageband is on it. my kid loves it. audio and plugins use crazy space.

I have 90gigs free now. I had a 16gb 5s and it was continuous torture maintaining disk space. I didn't want to make that mistake again.

128GB model, with just 8.6GB free. 41GB of music, 30GB of videos, 12GB of podcasts and iTunes U, and about 22GB of apps. I had to optimize photos from iCloud Photo Library because there wasn't any room.

This is replacing my MacBook Air, and I really wish there was a 256GB option.

Once, I thought 32GB would be quite enough for me; but after I used my iPhone 6s for about one year, I found the space available was less and less. Then I had to remove some photos, videos, chat records, and even apps to free up some space. Hence, that would be great if I have 64GB or 128GB.

Well this discussion is ages old and already meant for people with a 128 GB device.

How I wish Apple had a 256GB for the 2018 iPad...

26GB used. I went up to about 36GB for a few weeks when I went download crazy when Netflix enabled downloads (although I never watched anything I downloaded...)

I’m subscribing to Spotify soon so I expect I’ll download a few tracks and get closer to 32GB

Next time, I’m definitely getting a 64GB model.

Or if apple plays the 32/128/256 game in 2018, I’ll get the 32 and just be really careful as I’ve spent just over £100 on space that I’ve never really used.

Edit: I think the higher capacity models are great for those with kids, as anyone I know who has, ends up shooting a lot of 4K footage.

About 20gb used on my 256gb iPad.. my iPhone has about 90gb left on its 256gb storage from pictures and songs in the meantime. I solely use my iPad as an education device/streaming videos and music and only offline things are my notes and assignments. I like to have offline copies of my songs and pic/videos but having them on my phine, and then sharing all via iCloud storage has really freed up space for my other Apple devices, my phone is the only one taking it all in. Lol
