I have a 2012 Ford Focus and iOS 7 GM fixed my bluetooth audio sync issue with the latest iOS 6 update which made connecting my phone an exercise in frustration with constant drops.

I also don't get the contact photos on my 8" touch screen. I also don't get messages read to me. I do have the most up to date sync software on my 2013 F150. Is there a trick to having the system read messages?

I've got a 2013 Mustang and iOS7 GM pairs perfectly, I've been listening to music and took phone calls over bluetooth, no problems at all so far.

The only think I hate about the iPhone & Ford Sync is that when the phone's bluetooth disconnects from Sync, Sync starts blaring the damn radio! I wish it would just default to Aux so that wouldn't happen. Drives me crazy (excuse the pun).

Same here. It's annoying.

It actually displays a message notification on screen, you can select "Listen"

On phone, go into Settings - Bluetooth - Sync and make sure Show Notifications is set to on.
In car, in Sync - Phone Settings - Messaging seems I recall having to turn it on there also.

Thanks! I just turned on show notifications! I also set it in my truck and my wife's test text to me worked with sync.

Just re-setup sync w/iOS7. I noticed under Messages (in car) the send text button now works. Didn't try to send one but maybe its supported now?

ios7 (5s) connects to ford Sync but no calls through speakers

Hi all. a unique issue I can't find anyone else talking about. I can connect my 5s to Ford Sync (2013 Ford Explorer) no problems.. I can even 'call' a contact hands free through ford sync, BUT when the call connects, I canNOT get sound through my explorer speakers.. and with my old (less enjoyable) droid, I could do this no problems..

more strange... it worked for a call or two, then went away after I played ITunes Radio through Blu Tooth Audio....

a few other (maybe important) notes...

- I can play music through BT Audio (as noted above)
- I have tried deleting the Iphone from Ford Sync and reconnecting.. including, after deleting, also removing the pairing from the iphone and then re establishing it.
- I confirm the phone says "Sync" not "Speaker" or "Iphone" as audio source.

any suggestions ? any one else having this issue ?

I have a 2013 Ford Edge with MyFordTouch and it doesn't work even without the iPhone iOS 7! LOL #FordFAIL.

It's just as wonky as it was with iOS 6.

Everything about My Ford Touch is terrible. Hate me for saying it, but the first gen Sync software that Microsoft worked on was a much better platform.

Installed the new update for MyFord Touch and it works PERFECTLY with iOS7. Before now, I had issues with random skipping streaming music over Bluetooth.

Ios 7

Hi, i have a 2010 ford mustang gt with ford sync, has anyone been able to us IOS 7 with it. I can use bluetooth fine on it but run into problems when i connect it to car using USB. With IOS 6 i use to be able to use steering controls to skip tracks and such. Now steering controls nor dash controls will work and allow me to control music being played. Any idea whats wrong?

I'm having the same issues and have not been able to find a solution. My Explorer has the most up to date software. It only started with the iOS7 update.

I have the same issue with my 2011 Ford Mustang V6. I can connect, play music and actually change volume with the steering wheel controls but the Next and Previous track controls do not work.

I've discovered this advice in another forum:

Firstly I backed up my phone to my computer then whilst it was still connected up, from the iPhone summary page on iTunes there is an option to fully restore (towards the top) Click that and leave it connected and it will fully reset the phone and reinstall ios7. Once it's completed its cycle at the end it asks if you want to reinstall from the backup from your computer. Click yes and it will then do this. That did it fine for me. Good luck!

Another bit of advice says to simply cycle the power on your iPhone. I'm going to try the cycling first and then the former suggestion to see which works.

(An update to my other post)

My new i5s arrived and it works perfect with my Ford Explorer.

I still can't get my i5 to work though. My i5 worked fine before updating it to iOS7.

I had everything worked for about a week but now I get this error message when I go into the messaging section of sync:

"The currently connected phone does not support text messaging via Bluetooth"

It was finally working since I updated the Sync software and now this!! Boooo. Anything thoughts or ideas?

Works fine in my 2009 focus.

Supposedly MyFord Touch is getting a complete overhaul for 2015 or 2016

One thing I wish iOS and SYNC would do is show song information via BT, like it does when connected via USB.

This is a limitation of the head unit in your car. There are different versions of bluetooth, with the older ones not supporting metadata. I hate that too on my Hyundai sonata.

From wikepedia:
1.0 — Basic remote control commands (play/pause/stop, etc.)
1.3 — all of 1.0 plus metadata and media-player state support
The status of the music source (playing, stopped, etc.)
Metadata information on the track itself (artist, track name, etc.).
1.4 — all of 1.0 and 1.3 plus media browsing capabilities for multiple media players
Browsing and manipulation of multiple players
Browsing of media metadata per media player, including a "Now Playing" list
Basic search capabilities
Support for Absolute volume
1.5 — all of 1.0, 1.3 and 1.4 plus specification corrections and clarifications to absolute volume control, browsing and other features

I have a 2014 Fusion, does that mean Ford put an older head unit in mine?
