I have a 2012 Ford Focus and iOS 7 GM fixed my bluetooth audio sync issue with the latest iOS 6 update which made connecting my phone an exercise in frustration with constant drops.
The only think I hate about the iPhone & Ford Sync is that when the phone's bluetooth disconnects from Sync, Sync starts blaring the damn radio! I wish it would just default to Aux so that wouldn't happen. Drives me crazy (excuse the pun).
I also don't get the contact photos on my 8" touch screen. I also don't get messages read to me. I do have the most up to date sync software on my 2013 F150. Is there a trick to having the system read messages?
It actually displays a message notification on screen, you can select "Listen"
On phone, go into Settings - Bluetooth - Sync and make sure Show Notifications is set to on.
In car, in Sync - Phone Settings - Messaging seems I recall having to turn it on there also.
Has anyone tried iOS 7 with Ford Sync and does it work? I have a Ford F150 and don't want to upgrade if it won't work.
I have a 2013 Ford Edge with MyFordTouch and it doesn't work even without the iPhone iOS 7! LOL #FordFAIL.
It's just as wonky as it was with iOS 6.
Hi, i have a 2010 ford mustang gt with ford sync, has anyone been able to us IOS 7 with it. I can use bluetooth fine on it but run into problems when i connect it to car using USB. With IOS 6 i use to be able to use steering controls to skip tracks and such. Now steering controls nor dash controls will work and allow me to control music being played. Any idea whats wrong?

Everything about My Ford Touch is terrible. Hate me for saying it, but the first gen Sync software that Microsoft worked on was a much better platform.
Hopefully carplay will fix all of this when it's becomes the standard for cars.
One thing I wish iOS and SYNC would do is show song information via BT, like it does when connected via USB.
This is a limitation of the head unit in your car. There are different versions of bluetooth, with the older ones not supporting metadata. I hate that too on my Hyundai sonata.
From wikepedia:
1.0 Basic remote control commands (play/pause/stop, etc.)
1.3 all of 1.0 plus metadata and media-player state support
The status of the music source (playing, stopped, etc.)
Metadata information on the track itself (artist, track name, etc.).
1.4 all of 1.0 and 1.3 plus media browsing capabilities for multiple media players
Browsing and manipulation of multiple players
Browsing of media metadata per media player, including a "Now Playing" list
Basic search capabilities
Support for Absolute volume
1.5 all of 1.0, 1.3 and 1.4 plus specification corrections and clarifications to absolute volume control, browsing and other features
