Looking to upgrade from a macbook air to a new macbook pro. But given the chip shortage and price increase, I might just buy last years 13 inch macbook pro with the M1 chip. I can get like 450-500 from Apple if I trade in my current macbook air.

My wishlist for Apple is:
1 - A 16” MBP with Apple Silicon (64GB RAM and more than one external monitor)
2 - An AirPod capable of playing Lossless music
3 - The “gamer” AppleTV that was promised by the Apple reviewers in the beginning of the year (the “don’t buy this refreshed AppleTV yet” reviewers).

While a redesigned MacBook Pro would be great, I would also like to see a larger redesigned iMac (Pro or not, or whatever Apple decides to call it). Like many people, I am still working from home and desktop computers became far more useful than laptops during these times. And, even though I recognize how practical laptops are, I tend to prefer the power, comfort and ergonomics of desktop computers while I am at home.
Exactly. Pre-pandemic, I've always used a MacBook Pro for work and travel, connecting it to a 27" Thunderbolt display when at home. For the last 18 months, the MacBook Pro has been permanently docked - time to switch to whatever the new large iMac is, and get the benefits of a desktop again.
