No finish, no capacity. And ahem I was asking the author of the article as they explicitely mentioned the UK.

The iPhone is 17 years old now. The idea that if it’s not immediately selling out or hard to get it’s failing is dumb. Smartphones are a mature product that most people in the developed world have. And they’re good enough now that people don’t need to buy new ones every year.

Absolutely, I am on a two year upgrade schedule, maybe 3 if there is no huge jump in technology, frankly my 14 Pro would have made it another year if the camera package was still disparate… But now basically I am buying the phone for the camera package.

It looks like they sent a lot of stock to the stores themselves for today/tomorrow pickup, because ordering online for delivery is a month out on most models.

My shipping dates from my pro max are 27 Sep-11 Oct. I’m okay waiting. I’m moving from a 13 mini to the largest iPhone ever. I’m going to use the time to watch videos and learn a lot about the phone and iOS 18. ✌🏾

Went into London White City (Westfield) Apple Store this morning without a preorder or reservation and picked up a 16 Pro. They had all storage capacities and colours of the 16 Pro in stock. They had NO models of any colour or capacity of the 16 Pro Max - seems that that was the popular one (or they didn't manufacture as many). I didn't ask about the 16.

So for those saying Apple isn’t innovating anymore, boring update, what do y’all want hardware wise? The answers can’t contain 120hz screen across all models or folding models.

I'm probably justifying buying something I don't really need but the trade-in value on my 15 Pro seemed to justify purchasing the 16 Pro.

The end of an era for me. Since the launch of the original iPhone in 2007, I’ve faithfully purchased every new model, eagerly anticipating each September like Christmas. However, this year marks the first time I’ll be passing on the latest release. I’ve been left underwhelmed by the lack of true innovation in the iPhone 16, and as much as I’d love to continue the tradition, I simply can’t justify upgrading to what feels like the same device I already own.

I sincerely hope the lukewarm reception of the iPhone 16 will push Apple to step up and deliver something groundbreaking in 2025. There's no doubt they're sitting on technology far ahead of what we’ve seen, likely in development for decades. Here’s to hoping they finally unveil something truly remarkable in the near future.
This isn’t the first year the new phone hasn’t blown away the previous phone IMO. Sounds like it would be more exciting if you upgraded every other year. The iPhone is a mature product and year-over-year innovation isn’t going to be as mind blowing as it was years ago.

There are changes to these new phones, though. More battery life, bigger screens, upgraded cameras, better thermals, Camera Control, etc. It’s not a bad thing to not upgrade every year.

Not sure where all the criticism on the 16 comes from (I'd call it a super 15s) - great internal update on the processor, seriously better thermal management and a bigger display size & batts for both Pro's. The base 16 gets a double jump on the processor.

If you can get worthwhile trade in value (a personal calculation) I'd definitely go for it. Next year the processors stay on the same foundry process and the external size will likely remain the same...its actually a great upgrade from a system hardware perspective.

I'd like to see a book style foldable, maybe a rollable if they can pull it off (this one is a stretch, I know), anything besides the status quo at this point. And I'm not suggesting they replace the current iPhones, I'd just like to see Apple add another option to the lineup.

Just came back from the local Apple Store where I picked up my Apple Watch. There were 2 people in line waiting to buy either the new iPhone or an Apple Watch. Yes, only two. Store was deserted. I have never seen a launch this quiet before.

Last year my local Apple store didn't have Pro's in stock for awhile. Today they are available for walk in purchase. I would guess the 17 series will do better next year when they have possibly more RAM and the new "Air" model.
