lmao @ people rating this positive. You DO realize that by blocking leak info this site and others would have less leaks/info?? That's the reason you even come here to find out about leaks and such..

Oh my god. Did you even bother to read what this is about? This is about fraud, for which this manager was paid more than two million dollars. He was responsible for buying parts that Apple uses to build computers, phones, etc. at the best (lowest) possible price. Instead of doing his job, this Apple employee told the suppliers exactly what would be the highest possible amount that they could charge, so the goods were actually sold to Apple at the highest possible price.

As a comparison, MacRumors has displayed some screen shots of Lion. What this guy did was like selling all development plans and source code for Lion to Microsoft.

guys im pretty sure that the article was clear: he can be jailed for money laundering. he isn't directly being jailed (i dont think) for the secrets, he's being jailed for what he did with the money afterwards (hid it from the government, likely)

Certainly nowhere near as much as for crimes against the person. Certainly less than murder.

Well murder is normally life, and on rarer occasion death. You need to make a penalty strong enough that the crime is not "worth" it. Many people would view 5 or 10 years worth millions of dollars, so more criminals would risk these types of crime. Ultimately, protecting businesses from what would be rampant theft of this sort, is worth stiff penalties. This ultimately is a crime against all of us, because it hurts businesses and their competitive edge and the reward for innovative products. That ultimately hurts the employees of those businesses.

Bottom line, its a crime, he knew it was, so I don't feel any pity or remorse for the crook.

I vaguely know someone who works (or worked) for a supplier who apple used.

Said that it was always a pain, showing buyers around town, as they often wanted the vendor rep to throw in a few hookers, gratis.

Steak, strippers, and kickbacks. Vendor-supplier relationships are often very dirty. It hurts everyone except the buyer reps.

20 years in prison! For leaking information?!!

For wire fraud, conspiracy and money laundering. Of course he will end up in some country club minimum security prison. Perhaps he will lose some weight.

Move along people. Nothing to see here. Just another corrupt corporate white dude in the 50+ age group.

20 years?? What the h**l?? I understand that this is about more than just leaking information.. But 20 years is seriously a mucho mambo mamba loooooong time..

Keeping every criminal in prison or 20 years can't e good for the economy.. I'm thinking 2-4 years should do... But then again, i don't live in the US..

And further on, I'm wondering what the penalty would be if it only was information leaked - to MacRumors in example..
