Correcting my post: Apple did not "buy" GTA, they made a significant investment in the company.

To be fair, most people take take underwear off and put underwear on every day. Even more if they're changing into a bathing suit. Plus, Miley Cyrus is a performer and probably has to change into a lot of outfits, which may involve taking off her underwear.

Let no one accuse you of being unfair.

I'm calling it Schrödinger's Tech. Until it is officially announced, it both exists and doesn't exist.

I was just thinking about this yesterday, the big white box Apple has built near the Flint Center is a giant Schrödinger experiment! :D

Hurry hurry only one day left to get those last minute rumours in. Don't miss your opportunity to be someone who got something right.

I think he was simply implying that she's a whore.

This was published earlier this year and describes how they're able to mix the oxide with glass and plastic. It'll be a combination sapphire product on all iPhones that's a certainty now.

The only way they will have been able to sell the idea to Apple is to have solved the shattering issue. As I understand sapphire glass is a lot more prone to shattering, not a problem for a watch size screen and it offers superior scratch resistance, but they also cost more.
Anyway I guess the whole standard glass shattering issue with dropped devices, was the reason most devices including Apples use Gorilla Glass, because of its resistance to shattering.
So it will be interesting to see if they have solved the issue for screens of a phone size, if they do use sapphire glass in the iPhones.

lol.

This almost sounds like all future iPhone models will be sapphire ...

At current, this seems impossible. since while it will be on the iPhone 6 display, Apple is having issues with iPhone.

My theory is, as phones get bigger, we'll see more and more problems with production issues with sapphire since at this early stage, even a mere iWatch screen Apple is stuck at already.

If problems are happening now, what will they be like when the iPhone 8 come out ?

Personally, Gorilla Glass all the way. Apple's just setting themselves up for homework. Needing a stronger display, well, u gotta do the work, and they are finding it's not so easy.

That's their problem. I'm quite happy with iPhone 5s.

We don't need confirmation on whether Apple plans to use Sapphire for display covers. That's for sure.
What we need to know is, when do they plan to do it? iPhone 6, 6s or 7?

He's been gone since January. It's entirely possible that Apple was planning to use Sapphire then, but has since changed their mind.

This rumor earns the most ridiculous rumor of the week award. Either this rumor is true (note it does not specify what mobile device or devices using sapphire he was trying to sell to Apple, could be the iPod nano, for goodness' sake), or the sapphire is intended for use on the iMac. Think about it. In fact, all he says is that he was trying to market and sell sapphire to Apple for mobile devices, it doesn't even say if he was successful at it. He could very well have failed completely, and Apple ended up building a sapphire factory in order to make sapphire art to decorate the new spaceship campus. This rumor tells us absolutely nothing except that his company was interested in selling sapphire to Apple. I'm sure there's lots of companies that try to sell things to Apple all the time. Is each one an indication of Apple's future product line? I think not.

People are really digging deep trying to claim the iPhone will use sapphire displays. It's a rumor that never made sense, and soon will be disproved. The sapphire is obviously for the iWatch, for all the obvious physical and market reasons that have been repeated in the story comments ad nauseum for months.

It would be weird if there's going to be an option to get sapphire. If that were true, I wonder how much extra that would be.

we all know that the 6S will have sapphire. That is what the S stands for

Better known as the iPhone Success.

It is not happening.

"You can upgrade to sapphire...cause....you know....its better."

That is about as un-Apple as one could come up with.

sapphire is for the watches and not for the iPhone

I'm saying it's just the opposite. Especially if the recent iWatch rumors are true about a flexible display. Sapphire by nature is not very flexible. It's very hard and brittle. So if anything, it's going to be part of a sandwich of a few different materials on iPhone displays.

But as clueless as we are all right now, in less then 36hrs we will have all the answers. Can't friggen wait.
