If you search the term 'Fortnite', you have to scroll and scroll and scroll down to find it. Apple REALLY doesn't want you to find it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love it!

EDIT: Oh, and they are making you type in your Apple password, instead of being able to just double click the side button on the iPhone. 🤣

I think the key is Apple hasn’t banned Epic Sweden (the subsidiary that the EU made Apple allow on the store). So as long as Epic Sweden isn’t banned they get to release stuff that follows the rules.

Apple can’t ban Epic Sweden without angering the EU regulators. So Apple’s stuck (unless the Appeals court pulls through)
so, you posted a few days ago that the original order to ban Epic was for all subsidiaries etc.
And I understand that Wpic Sweden was forced into the App Store by the EU.
So, honest question - is a developer creates an account - is there only 1 (one) App Store that that happens in? I suppose that is the case, maybe Apple needs to split the App Store up or something like that ... since iOS is kinda "split up" for EU and non-EU, makes me sad though ...

The last time I saw my kid boot up Fortnite on the Switch, it has basically turned into another Roblox. By which I mean there are tons of different "experiences" that aren't even Fortnite anymore.
Huh, so “Feature Creep” is in Fortnite too. I always had to chuckle whenever World of Warcraft introduced some mini game mechanic into the overall experience. I guess everyone does that eventually

If I search for Fortnite in the App Store the game does not show up. Lol

Tim Cook has no spine. He should have told Sweeny/Epic to go **** off and never let them back in.

I guess now you can willfully break rules you willingly agree to with no consequences.
I agree with your second statement.
I think Cook followed what his legal time advised him to do, I am sure they are very busy on a new strategy to get Epic off the App Store again, time will tell

I am not a developer, but my understanding is each developer account gets to select which stores it offers its app in. So multiple stores, but as long as Epic Sweden is following the rules, Apple can’t tell them “you’re not allowed to submit in the US store” unless they change it so no developer can submit from outside their own store, which is clearly not workable.

Appreciate any corrections from those more knowledgeable

Apple finally realising they lost and no matter how many millions they will keep spending to fight this. The only thing left is piss of judges even more and lose even more. I love it that they basically lost everywhere with their draconian app store fee.

If only they let people just add an extra link to buy on their own site and all of this mess and millions of lawyer fees could have been saved.

Also, LOL at the people 'threating' to give it one star. Like if that matters, Fortnite prints money even if it has minus 5 stars. But hey, if that is your way op coping, why not.

Yay! Epic makes more money and Apple makes up for the loss of services revenue by increasing hardware prices for all of us. What a win for consumers!
You mean Apple raises hardware prices because they're not getting MILLIONS of $$$ for doing nothing? Maybe they better step-up their hardware "innovation" and make something that works -- people tired of paying >$1000 for a phone with a new lens and a chip+1 (won't even discuss false advertising features that are nowhere near ready and may never be).

Tim Sweeney's cognitive dissonance is something else. All this song and dance about wanting to bring his game to as many people as possible, yet he pretends MacOS and Linux don't exist.

He could, at a minimum, pretend it's not just about the money.

Some people here sound like real legal experts.

A part of me wants Apple to drag this out longer and show up in court next week. I’m curious as to who would show up and what reasonings they’ll be using to justify their decision.

No.

They just realised this single battle (denying Fortnite return to the Store) isn‘t worth fighting.
But they (I assume) won‘t give up fighting the war anytime soon.
Yeah so far they have won nothing and just made judges everywhere angry with their non compliance.

We have USB-C, we have alternative app stores, we have switching of default apps (and a lot more is coming), we have alternative payment methods, we have links to to website to buy, we have open browser engine in the EU, they can't charges fees on external purchases and soon they will have to open up NFC, airpod connect and watch functionality too in the EU ...

What did they win? US, UK and EU are not going to walk back laws, especially after their behaviour. Also developers will revolt as well once they are used to all those new methods that are just in effect.

They lost, and they know it otherwise Fortnite wouldn't be back with 'no comment' :D

... it’s good for developers and consumers.
It is too early to determine who will benefit from this. The big developers may win. But the independent developers may actually suffer. Apple will find a way to monetize its platform. The way that it was currently setup seemed a comparatively fair for many parties; the big boys paid a little bit more so that others could play for free. Instead, folks got greedy and one of the most successful business opportunities is getting ruined. I'm not sure that everyone will be happy with the unintended consequences of these decisions.

So willfully & deceptively breaking a contract that you willingly entered into is now considered "resisting"?
im sorry but apple have state under oath they where willing to let Fortnite back on the store if it followed all the rules.
And currently links outside the store with 0% commission is legal.

it's neither my or Epics fault apple made binding commitments or be slapped with perjury.

Agree. The more I think of it the more I think Cook's hands were tied in legal bs.

If you want to reach as many people as possible, Linux is the absolute last place you look to.
