I'm a rolling stone.
I got a MR notification that someone replied to my post, see first screenshot.
Clicked on the link and brought me to the post.
I never encountered what I found next, the poster replied to a post which wasn't mine, yet I got a notification, did the
poster mess up or is this a forum software glitch.

1. Is the Notification I got
2. Is the Post with my name
3. Is the post linked to if you press the justperry link in davidalan's post

My *guess* would be that @Davidalan made a mistake copying/pasting while when editing that quote. I don't think the forum software would cause such an error, and it also wouldn't prevent someone from accidentally pasting content into a quote. Perhaps he can shed some light on this?

[edit]It is possible, however, that this could be an example of database corruption. I moderate on another site that migrated from a couple other platforms to Xenforo several years ago. Recently I saw an example there of posts attributed to a user who wasn't even a member at the time they were made. We figured that was the likely explanation.

Maybe multi quote mistake? Those are saved across posts

I do have a question: when I post a link I use the link icon and paste the url and some time some text. It shows in the post as a line of text in blue and is a live link. Some people post links and it appears as whole version like a little bit of a page with small image. Question is how do they get that?

If you just paste the link, you get the box. Like thus:

And here it is via the link icon.
