I would have done the same thing. I'm a huge believer of Karma and I know that I would be devastated if that happened to me (and it did). I'm glad there are thoughtful people like you, who are humble and down to earth. Keep it up my friend.
Thanks !

I was rewarded with a nice "Thank You" and a good feeling knowing the mother was able to return the iPod to her 13 year old daughter.
Life is not all about money - hopefully you will realize that some day.
Yes I've seen quite a bit of phones on eBay that are iCloud locked.
Where you rewarded.
I don't mind doing it just won't spend money to go all the way just to return it.
Will do it when I'm around there then
Ignore the other posters. They're just jealous because you found an iPod touch and they didn't. Finders keepers, losers weepers.
It's actually really easy to bypass the activation lock. There's a bug in iOS 7 and 7.1 that lets you switch off Find My iPhone without entering the password. Then, you can easily wipe it. But since you already tried to wipe the iPod touch, it's too late. You can't do this now because you can't get to the Settings app.
You might be able to sell it for spare parts on eBay.
Yeah, everyone is jealous instead of just being decent human beings.Ignore the other posters. They're just jealous because you found an iPod touch and they didn't. Finders keepers, losers weepers.

If a sincere "Thank you" is not good enough for you, then throw it away, not try to take advantage of it. It simply does NOT belong to you and making your way to use it somehow is no different from stealing it.![]()
Even if it's stolen? Why would anyone want someone else to make any use of anything they paid good money for and now have to pay more good money to replace, especially if it's stolen?I should imagine that in at least 7 cases out of 10, someone who can't access a phone/tablet/iPod/whatever will just toss it in the trash. Very few people will hand it in to Apple. Therefore the owner loses out and so too does the finder/thief.
I don't know about you guys but if I lose something, or it is stolen, I gain zero satisfaction from knowing that whoever found it/stole it can't use it either. Once it's gone it's gone, and someone else may as well get some use out of it!

Which screen? The Activation Lock? This is sort of off topic, but what if you purposely wanted to give your iOS device to someone? Would there be a way to disable that screen?
Which screen? The Activation Lock?
Yup, that's basically it.Yeah. I think all you have to do is turn off Find my iPhone before restoring, right?
What is that in relation to?
That only works if they have a home phone, which a lot of people do not. I only have one phone number - my iPhone. Why do people not tape a post-it behind their phone (if you use a case) that has your name and phone number if found? Then if you get an honest person they will call.
Try taking it to Apple Store, I found an iPod 5 and they assisted me returning it to the owner.
