Stolen from my car when I went in for a trade in appraisal

Lost mode enabled at the same time. lol I don't have a clue how in the hell it wasn't locked until now. Crazy stuff

Wow. Your in the USA and your iPhone is across the world. Unfortunate ending, although at least you know where it is.

I never cared about the phone. It was the pictures and some data. I had a reward of $2000 on my local Craigslist ad. For 6 months.

Regardless, when something is stolen and never recovered, it's natural to wonder whatever happened to the stolen item. We have all been there and done that at one point or another.

Why don't you make a documentary on how to stalk a dumb thief who doesn't know it's being stalked!!! This would be hilarious! I saw something online on the internet about someone who had his phone stolen and was able to track the thief for a couple of months!!

Well. It's gone. It's done. I'm not spending several thousands lol. Which would take out of my nephews medical bill money. Plus in those few months do you know how much beer and steak I'd be missing out on ?

Yeah most likely lol. I honestly thing it's pretty damn cool to see how far it's really made it.

As of 4:54 am.

I received an email with the irreplaceable pictures they somehow bypassed and accessed my information.

Just realized it. I couldn't give a damn about the phone

What does this mean?

It means they bypassed iCloud and password. And sent me the most priceless pictures on the device that couldn't ever be replaced. Lol. It's still fun to think it travelled that far

They bypassed your iCloud lock? Did you have a weak password? What phone and OS was it?

6 plus and fingerprint/6 digit password.

I've heard of local places bypassing. It's not cheap. And this is what I'm guessing. I have no idea if that happened. I'm just glad to have my pictures back

I can. But then it won't be iCloud locked right ?
Actually it will still be iCloud locked, when they try to activate it they will be required to enter your iCloud password to get into the phone. This would be more secure than entering 6 digits code. Probably should have wiped it when you had the chance.

There are services that will unlock iCloud anyway, but at least by wiping they won't get your data.

Gotcha. I'll attempt to delete it now

Erased iPhones cannot be locked nor tracked

Okay, I forgot about that part. It'll still be iCloud password locked, just not locate/trackable. (Pretty curious about this myself, I will have to try it out and see if it's still traceable after wipe.)

On Android there is an app called Cerberus where you can remotely take photo/video/recording and other scary things, unfortunately iPhone don't have that.
