And then the 3rd level. The over-the-top indignation of not getting an absolutely perfect product for their money.

---Ahhh and then the 4th level... when the apologists come out of the woodwork to tell others that their concerns are meaningless and to hush up and quit making a fuss.

It's indeed the geek "circle of life"

I really don't think you understand what "defensive" means.

... and why do you feel the need to start every post with a bunch of dashes?

Well to answer your latter question I guess it's a habit from the old BBS days (macIIci, powermac, etc) where the quote didn't seperate itself clearly from your reply so you added the dashes for clarification. Since it's color coded over here I agree it's unnecessary. So we both learned something...

I was going to respond to the term "defensive" but I'm finding it silly as I am one of the ones that have said if the issue doesn't bother you much ...keep it. I certainly don't expect perfection from any Apple product and as you can probably tell by my archaic references above... I've had mac stuff for a long time. I sure wouldn't have called any of it perfect by a long shot.

I still hate to see people ridiculed for wanting some kind of "perfection" from their Apple purchase because the company actively promotes this image with it's "magical" claims and other nonsense.

Apple hold ITSELF to high quality control standards, which is why they have such great and unquestioning customer support. Apple customers expect high quality PRECISELY because Apple demands it of itself.

If any of you naysayers complaining about these high standards were in charge at Apple, the company would be bankrupt because no one would buy your crap products. Have a little self awareness and quit your yapping.

May I suggest you all stop twisting your iPads? When I hit my head on a wall it hurts, when I stop it doesn't. Maybe the solution is to make sure you put even pressure on both sides....no tweak no bleed? What do I know....my iPad doesn't bend.

How can you not apply pressure or slightly bend something about the size of a sheet of paper that is designed to be used and operated in your hands? You have to hold the damn thing, then you have to use it, rotate it, etc., so over the course of naturally using this product you will inadvertently apply pressure and twist parts of it without even knowing.

Well aren't you a piece of work...

Flexing out spots worked for me a bit.

I went into Dark room. Flexed it until I loosened it up a bit removing some bleed. The one bleed most ppl have is just to the right of the home key. It's still there but almost completely gone. I didn't kill any pixels either....sheesh! It's already got internal parts pressing against it causing the bleed.

Also if you walk into a dark room the screen will still be on bright. If you switch sleep (top) button off then on it will be dimmer in the dark room and you will notice the bleed isn't so bad.

Side note. Apple stoe has replacements that are out of box for this problem if it's bad. I couldn't get a straight answer if they were refurbs or not. Just that the packaging wasn't there as we already got the box first time around Lol
I'm sticking with mine. Watching Netflix I can't see it.
The black screen will never be truly black so a little more fade on the edge is nothing.

To those that have it bad I apologize for seeming it's nothing but I swear mine did just look bad and I flexed/massaged it around the spots. That is if you have a half circle spot try massaging on the sides of it that are dark and flexing it so the light spot has more curve in the back. Then take a look.
It's just the internal parts pressing against it.
