Never gonna happen.

Apple has turned its attention fully to mobile devices. iMacs and MacBooks now take a back seat. You really believe Apple is going to only have one iPhone model and one iPad model? LOL I bet you also thought they would never create a product like Macbook air. Why would they need to when they already had 13, 15 and 17 inch MacBooks right?

No, they are available now. Qualcomm has their .28 process down, whereas previous chips used the .45 process, which the new iPad uses.

No. That's because the iPad 3 has a data only LTEchip, not a voice and data LTE chip. The reason LTE phones have crummy battery life is partially because they have a 4G data chip AND a 3G voice chip which run simultaneously. iPad doesn't have that issue, and when a condensed LTE chip is released this fall with both services it will give LTE phones better battery life

The original article CLEARLY says 'seems' and 'possible' again and again.

Basically even the article says they are not sure but just guessing.

One of the scene shots say, "You are hiring such a large amount of people?"
"Yes, there may possibly be a new iPhone around June".

Basically the original article is super tentative. I am calling horse **** as the Japanese press is pretty crap at the best of times.

ICS was released on the Nexus last fall and none of the OEM's actually received a final release inl January of this year. Naturally they will put the OS on newer phones and roll out updates to previous models and none of the OEM's had the ability to launch a new phone until the Nexus was out first. If you are going to say something, know what you are talking about first.
None of that even makes sense at all. Apples method of releasing the software to everyone at the same time is far superior. No one wants a skinned version of ICS on their phone. Updates would be way faster without the skins.

they need to launch the 5 w/ LTE already

after the lukewarm update that was the 4S

June would push them even further ahead of the competition

You may perceive it as lukewarm, but it was a runaway hit.

Apple could sell peices of ishit and the fanboys will line up for it.

Edit. It will prob be the best looking peice of ishit ever seen tho to be fair.

The New iPhone will be launched in June at WWDC, it just makes sense.

The article below tells of Jobs not really having a big input in the 4s but was majorly involved in the iPhone 5.

http://crave.cnet.co.uk/mobiles/iphone-5-not-4s-was-steve-jobs-final-project-50005666/

Why would apple wait for its competitors to come in and take its iPhone 4 launch holders that are due an upgrade this June? If all the donkey work has been done it makes sense to unveil Steve Jobs' final work at the first WWDC since his death.

The 4s is what the 4 should have been, it wasn't a big enough move forward to keep out there as the company's flag ship phone for a whole year.

If apple does wait until October to launch the 5 then it will lose a lot of potential customers to the new generation of Android phones.

Just saying.

Think about it for a second. If Apple was going to lease anything in June, wouldn't we be seeing leaked pictures and reading endless rumors about it by now? Now having said that, I can see a larger iPod touch sometime this year, first quarter of 2013. As for the comment about LTE and AT&T's ***** network, I give a great big AMEN to that!

Apple will NEVER go an entire year without releasing a new iPhone. It is their flagship device. It would be suicide if they did.

June 29, 2007 - Original iPhone

July 11, 2008 - iPhone 3G

June 8, 2009 - iPhone 3GS

June 24, 2010 iPhone 4

October 14, 2011 iPhone 4S

Seems they go about an entire year just about every time.

Only last year with the 4S did they wait more than a year to release a new iPhone.
