Which will never happen unless government makes the necessary laws, and then bothers to enforce them.Good. The sooner the likes of Facebook and Twitter do more to protect its users from harmful content, the better.
Good. And it won't be just the EU that wants US companies out. We're coming closer and closer to a day where it will simply be cheaper for US companies to divest completely from the EU and ignore their regulations.
Right. Let's go back to isolationism. Let's not share any beneficial medical research with the EU, even life-saving information and drugs. Is that where this conversation is going?Good. And it won't be just the EU that wants US companies out.
Remember the USA is only about 4% of the worlds population.
And you are NOT the greatest country on earth.
Apt analogue. I guess that anyone sometimes take a fight with a tyrannical master. Guess what France is doing with the big techs? It’ll be easier to just leave Europe alone, America fought for independence from them for a reason.
Because they have become Orwellian. Why is everybody mad at tech companies?
Please do. And while you're at it, leave the rest of the world alone, too. It’ll be easier to just leave Europe alone, America fought for independence from them for a reason.
Orwellian and communistic - we must fight to protect humanity from the coming genocide.Because they have become Orwellian.
Hm, you could begin with the current. Reaching 500 000 today, all killed by the US govt.Orwellian and communistic - we must fight to protect humanity from the coming genocide.
It’s going to be more if we don’t stop it..Hm, you could begin with the current. Reaching 500 000 today, all killed by the US govt.
What is meant by this twaddle? There is no free market when both production inputs and outputs are related to inevitable frictions such as time and space.
Why don't you look to China who kills millions daily before pointing fingersHm, you could begin with the current. Reaching 500 000 today, all killed by the US govt.
Give it time, Comissar Biden will do the samething, as will his Communist Party(Dems). To me, Dems are lying communists, republicans are too. So, really the USA has a one party system called the Communist Party, UASS.Why don't you look to China who kills millions daily before pointing fingers
China doesn't kill anyone. They wiped out the epidemic at an early stage, with less than 5000 deaths in total. That is a FIVE HUNDRED times lower toll than that of the US, counted per capita. Why don't you look to China who kills millions daily before pointing fingers
Any time France is involved, you know things are going to go to ****.Amazing how quick these discussion turns to the hate for EU and unfiltered praise for US companies.
See I think thats were I draw the line because Alex Jones and Donald Trump were sending people to commit violent acts against others in real life. The other angle is that anyone else who is not famous wouldve been censored without a second thought for saying many of the things they said.France looking to crush competition and a free market, what's new?
On a serious note, who decides what content is illegal? I've been disgusted by the mass censorship going on and it should worry everyone. I would rather err on the side of allowing inappropriate content than allow more censorship.
The internet was meant to be an open forum, seems like that era is dying and it's becoming a filtered entity controlled by governments and unaccountable multinational corporations.
You may not like Alex Jones or Donald Trump but their coordinated deplatforming off of everything is extremely disturbing and Orwellian. I'm of the old fashioned mindset that I may not agree with what you say but I'll fight for your right to say it.
Tbqh MSFT still maintains more of a monopoly than any of the other players. They’ve just benefitted from having already gone though antitrust.Interesting that it's always Apple, Facebork, Google and Amazon who's always in the bullseye.
Microsoft is never included in the bunch. Funny how times have changed.
See I feel its a proxy data gathering operation by the EU so they can track you by forcing Apple and others to share information with third parties and governments you didnt agree to share your information with. It’s France and it’s big tech. France in particular is super protectionist with its tech firms, but protectionism doesn’t play well in the EU. So they’ll always crouch it in consumer-friendliness. But stuff like sharing users’ private data with competitors is where the pro-consumer mask slides off and you can see it’s about protectionism.
That’s a possibility, too, but I still think the idea is to “share” data with European competitors. Look at France’s moves against news aggregators like Google News in favor of the local news sites. It goes above and beyond.See I feel its a proxy data gathering operation by the EU so they can track you by forcing Apple and others to share information with third parties and governments you didnt agree to share your information with.
Good for polish people!Actually, it is Poland that has done it right. They will fine any Yankee company that remove a message that is within the law. No more American christian crusades against European art with bare titties… no more "liberal" censorship of views they don't like.
^^^ History lesson required. It’ll be easier to just leave Europe alone, America fought for independence from them for a reason.
