I downloaded these a few weeks ago and wanted to share it since I believe the threads have been removed. Don't know why. I am not the author nor am I taking any credit for these files. I just felt like posting them for anyone to have. I thought they worked out really well for me. Depending on the model screen you have on the iMac alum, it will have different effects. Hopefully they can be useful to others.

If the authors are out there please post in the thread and take credit for the calibrations.;)

    Enjoy!:):apple:

Go to your main HD>go to Library>ColorSync>Profiles>Displays. Than just drop it in there.;)

Do all imacs come out of the box with identically hardware calibrated screens then??

I thought that sharing screen profiles was pointless as every individual screen demands different calibration settings to get the same result. Hence the need for spiders and hueys (or whatever they're called).

No offense to the op - thanks for posting these, I am going by eye judgement only atm too.

I may well be wrong, but that's the way I learned it was a while ago. Are modern lcds different these days? Is colour balance identical at manufacture now?

Not me ,just passing them thru...

No it's still the same. Like I said in the post, I didn't make them, but one file worked great for me which was the perfect icc. I just felt like posting them to see if the files would lend a helping hand to does that can't afford a Spider or Huey calibration tool. :D
Again...It may or may not work for you because of the different LCD skus that are on the iMac.

As far as I know there are 2 different panels for the 20 " most people seem to have the a but my b/f has the b. I think his screen looks really washed out but he says it's fine and doesn't want me messing around with it. I have the 24" and used a profile posted a few weeks back and it looks great!

You must uncheck "Show profiles for this display only" under color in the system preferences.

Are you sure you put them in the HD/Library/Colorsync/Profiles/Displays?

If they aren't showing up that simply means they aren't compatible with your screen

I put mine in HD/Library/Colorsync/Profiles, not into the displays folder, works perfect.

I just did an alternate version to the Perfect.icc one i created a while back. This one has less gamma and is easier on the eyes...well my eyes...some might find it a little too dark. Basically YMMV.

    Enjoy

PS. My screen is a 9C6A, therefore the profile may not be compatible with some other displays such as the 9C6Bs
