Got mine yesterday and applied the back right away (SGP ole on front). It looks pretty awesome for only shipping. Reminds me a lot of ZAGG. I dipped the whole thing in water with a couple drop of soap. Put it on and used paper towel to suck up as much water as it could first. Then once it sticked better, I started to push out bubbles. Had to do it twice becase when I tried to wiped it dry with paper towel, it lifted the corner of the camera cut out and got some fabric under.

Just ordered a couple more, had to take them off when I tried the Otterbox. They are much better than the crap from ebay so I will use them while I decide what to use permanently.

Good thing it was free, because it sucked.

Wet application... no thank you.

The earpiece and button cutouts took extreme force to remove on mine.

Into the bin it went, I know now why they gave heaps away, reckon it was a dud run.

Just applied mine, and its outside in the sun drying :)

Turned out pretty well i think.

Also the earlier complaints about the cuts being bad/off I think the ones their shipping now dont have those anymore. As mine was perfectly lined up.

Also is it normal it looks like it has these weird spots under it? I dont know how to describe it but perhaps that its not dry yet.. Or like thats where its sticking while other spots are clear?

in 12 hours 50% of the spots go away. in about 24-36 hours all the spots go away

i'm satisfied with it. it's better than zagg or the ones you get on ebay... ONLY if you follow directions and put it on carefully. then wait patiently.

i think most of the guys who had problems installing or with the 'bubbles' (which go away when cured) are being to hasty and impatient

Agreed. Most people complaining admit they did not even give them a try.

Wait a minute.. Am I the only one who ONLY got a front and back protector? People here are going on about plastic for the surrounding metal bit? :S:S

I did not notice any one mentioning a metal band cover. That is not part of the deal.

Looks great on the phone. Sure beats the 99cents ebay stuff.

Might order 1 or 2 more to have as spares for down the road! The cuts seem perfect so they have improved i believe from the earlier ones people received.

I saw your pics with the front skin (looking like it had a lot of really tiny bubbles underneath). Did this ever clear up and how long did it take? Just installed the same skin and have the same issue.. Anyone else notice these really tiny bubbles (so small you cannot actually push them out)?

I had the really tiny bubbles they look like little sparkles in the light. Most go away if you are patient and let it cure for 24 hours. After a couple days 99.99% go away. It came out good and i'm very rough with my phone

Yea they did! The screen is crystal clear! Im currently still using this protector and its amazing! Im even thinking of order another 1 or 2 more, since they are better than the ebay ones.

And now that i installed this bumper it seems to lift the corners up a bit so i figured i should stock up for later :)

It is not a gimmick just because you don't like the product.

Maybe he didn't install it correctly. There is a learning curve for a wet install. The biggest issue is being patient and allowing small bubbles to disappear within a day or two on their own, and not trying to force them all out when installing.

I usually use phantom skins and these are similar. The biggest difference is that these free ones are smaller in size and don't cover the complete front or back. Also, the cutouts have to be removed by pulling on them until they break loose. Once you get past that, the install is the same as all the other wet installs.

Stealth Guards - Good Experience

I registered just to say something about this, and everyone out there with the "give it time, it's a wet install and it's different" opinion is pretty much dead-on in my experience.

I installed one of these on my wife's LG Rumor Touch several months ago (paid full price, even), and it worked perfectly. As stated by some others, any visible bubbles (which were VERY small, me being an AR perfectionist) disappeared after a few days. It's still on there great, and you can hardly tell it's there. The Rumor Touch has multiple pieces with various cutouts, so I'd assume it's far more difficult to apply than one for a Touch. Yeah, the wet install is a bit nerve-wracking at first, but it's hardly a big deal once you realize that no harm is going to be done. And it's way more forgiving than adhesive protector installs I've done on DSs or other phones.

That said, I just bit the bullet and preordered a new 4th gen Touch, and immediately went out and got two Stealth Guards for it (yes, they have 4th gen guards up on the site now) for a total of $4.85 shipping.

The only concern I have is how it could affect the touch screen. On the Rumor, it works fine, generally, but it's hard to tell if it'll feel "off" with games and such on the Touch. Hopefully not---I'm thinking the touch responsiveness on the Rumor's screen is simply because it's a Rumor (hardly an iPod). I'll try to update once I have everything, but right now, the iPod and the guards are on order, so I'll have to wait until both are released.

Long story short, these guards are legit. The "healing" claim is a bit silly, based on fingernail tests I've done on the Rumor, but it's still superior to a lot of cheaper screen protectors I've seen. Just don't expect a miracle.

Advice for wet installation

Hi,

I just received the Stealth Guards film for my iphone 4 and watched the video installation. Video shown wet installation but what did you use with the bottle spray? Water only or mixed with soap but how much or something else?
Is wet installation the best way to install the film? I tried PowerSupport before and all i did just dry install on my previous iphone 3G.

Thanks.

When I did it on my wife's Rumor Touch, I used a bowl of water with a little Dawn (literally like a drop or two) in it. Then I simply dipped the Stealth Guard pieces in the bowl before installation. If you can get over the scary factor of the wet installation, it's nice, since it allows for a few crucial seconds of sliding movement for minor adustments before it really sets into place.

Even then, at one point during the install, I removed an entire piece, redipped and put back on. No visual issues/dirt whatsoever--a new experience for me in removing and reinstalling a screen guard. I think the soap may have something to do with that, since it provides a layer of slipperiness to block any debris from sticking to the guard permanently. Just a guess, of course. Long story short, water in a bowl with Dawn worked well.

Oh yeah, one more thing---do yourself a favor and use POWDERLESS rubber gloves (medical gloves, not dishwashing gloves) when you do any install of this sort. It can save a lot of headaches as far as fingerprints go (just make sure the gloves fit your fingers well--go too small if anything, since extra latex on the fingers of larger ones could be an issue with sticking to adhesives).

You guys think this skin can be removed after being on the phone for ~month and re-applied??

no. when you peel off a wet install type skin they really don't go back on. it will basically roll up on itself as soon as you peel it off.
