I'm trying to find a free defrag program that I can boot into and have it defrag my drive. I heard this will fix a common problem where Boot Camp will try to partition the drive and it gives the error that says something like, "unable to move files."

I'm having this problem. Tried repair disk and permissions (from snow leopard boot dvd) and this does not fix the problem.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Sorry, I don't know of any free. iDefrag would be the app of choice.

The only free method is to use Restore (Disk Utility) to backup the contents of your internal drive elsewhere, then again use Restore to, well, restore them. This will consolidate the files on the drive and create the contiguous free space Boot Camp needs.
