Another way of paying for those things is by not having a $100 unnecessary smart phone plan.

I'm sure I'll get ripped for this as it gets brought up on these phone forums too much, but:

I swear, the thing I'm amazed by most as a new DC resident is the middle and high school tourist groups. The number of kids who don't have jobs yet still have iPhones and Blackberries simply boggles my mind. They call MY generation (I'm 23) generation ME but I can tell you that I don't know many people who had smart phones before college. I felt lucky when I got a camera phone....

Times are changing. Almost everyone uses a smartphone in high school and a majority of them are iPhones. How do I know? I'm an incoming senior in high school.

Same at my high school... almost everyone has a smartphone, and of those that do, 90% are iPhones.

Seems most of the posters in here are a bunch of kids. No wonder you get so many flame wars when talking about other phones.

Who is flaming who? Who is even talking about other phones? We were just referring to our first phones to give another poster an example, and we weren't flaming each other about other phones, so I don't know what you're talking about. Everyone in this thread so far has been nice to each other.

All we're doing is having a discussion, nothing more, nothing less.

If you were not talking about this thread, why would you make a post like that in this thread then? How was I supposed to know you weren't talking about this thread? Sorry about that, then.

(Although I do agree that there are people who act like kids on this forum.)

Because of the posters saying they are in high school. The last thing i bolded in your response is exactly why i mentioned it here.

There isnt any flaming in this thread so i was refering to other threads when i said "when talking about other phones". We arent talking about other phones in this thread. I was refering to threads that say for example, "iP4vs SGS2" or "i tried Android, brought it back" and the flame wars in there.

There seems to be many kids that come here and yes they act like idiots when something negative is said about iPhone.

While I think putting a glass back on a cell phone is the stupidest idea since the rubber hammer, you bought it and you scratched it. Pay up.

I just graduated yesterday and in the row in front of me (consisting of 10 or so students) I saw 6 iPhone 4s and a 3Gs. I also own 3 iPhones (that work, although I also own many that are disassembled) that I like to SIM swap. My 4 is my main phone while I keep one 3Gs jailbroken with tweaks and other such things. I've owned up to 6 iPhones at one time. Smartphones are very popular.

this. Had my first smartphone when i was 13 (sidekick lx, that was was ****ing awesome).

Anyway, i am the same age as him, and am turning 16 also in september. Every dollar counts (parents pay the $30 for me too). I actually use the phone a lot while i'm in school, (eg. Google translate instead of looking through an italian dictionary). Saves me a lot of time, and helps out a lot. I also use it to as an agenda book (honors student -.-), and for notes. It can be really helpful.

(i can't find a job either) :(

+1

Actually a rubber hammer has many purposes. Driving in nails isnt one of them. The only puirpose of teh glass back was to look nice as was the chrome back of the first iPod..or any iPod for that matter, which was very slippery and scratched very easily.
Two bad ideas.

Sounds like someone has an iPhone fetish. Did you really count all the iPhones and which ones they were in the first row during your graduation?....LMAO.

Haha well I didn't count them consciously! This was actually at grad rehearsal, and not graduation like I mis-conveyed earlier; no one texted at the actual graduation, but everyone was texting at rehearsal and I couldn't help but notice all the iPhones. :D

I agree. It can be quite annoying. Thank you for the clarification.

I didn't scratch it. I bought it used. The front screen is in perfect condition, but the previous owner scratched up the back a bit so I had no control over that, however, the day I got the iPhone from the previous owner, I bought a case and screen protector the same day.
