I'm kicking myself for not downloading last weeks songs  I had them in the shopping cart but didn't click purchase.
Were they songs you actually liked? I get them first and decide if I like them later, but perhaps you didn't miss songs you'd have wanted.

This is the book that Sawyer was reading on Lost in this week's episode. The author's name is an anagram - I won't give it away in case you want to figure it out. I guess it's part of the Lost Experience game.

It's not "Raptor Guy", is it? ;)

Ding ding ding!!! :p

If you want to do this on your own...

The author's name is "Gary Troup." The solution to the anagram has been posted in one of the reviews on iTunes, so refrain from looking at the reviews if you want to figure out the word puzzle on your own.

Is there a way to get the free downloads from ITSs for countries where you don’t have a billing address? Preferably with minimal hoop-jumping.
I think if you just make an account for the apple discussions, and say you are from the US, you can log into iTMS with that account and download free stuff w/o a creditcard. At least, that's what I did and I've never given them a card #.

  This week's are up.

If you're talking about free videos, I think KKKL either gave up or they really aren't doing it anymore...

Then maybe I'm mistahken... I thought this thread was documenting free songs, free audiobooks, and free videos. I saw the "LOST" audiobook, but was looking for the free SOTW...

I came by looking for the week's free ITMS d/ls... are they no more? Say it ain't so...
What country are you in? I don't find "Green" on my map of the world. If you are in the U.S., the regular pair of free downloads are available as usual, even though they were posted about half a day later than usual this week.

The videos are a little flakey...sometimes the are up for only a few days, somrtimes several weeks or indefinitely. There certainly doesn't seem to be any kind of a weekly plan in place (although it started to look like that early this year).

Here is a list of what shows up as free in TV shows (I'm too lazy to search Videos) right now...

Sci Fi Inside - Battlestar Galactica
Conviction - Behind the Scenes
NASCAR Daytona 500 Preview
Project Runway - Trailer
Project Runway - Road to the Finale
SportsCenter Ads - Spelling Bee
SportsCenter Ads - Card Sharks
SportsCenter Ads - Cooler
SportsCenter Ads - Hot Dog
SportsCenter Ads - Rain Delay
SportsCenter Ads - Hot Dog With a Mask
Top Chef Trailer

These all seem to be free indefinitely.

And the last free link on the iTMS TV shows main page is also still active:
Blown-up - Dope A*s Rapper
...but who knows for how long?

The way Apple seems to be handling the videos reminds me of the way they used to have the extra promotional freebies on song side of iTMS in 2005 (like Volvo, Old Spice, etc.)

Weldon wins the "how daft is this punk" contest. I didn't realize new SOTWs were getting posted in the first msg in this thread.

Thanks all~

This week's free Single of the Week ([playlistId=152975702&s=143441&i=152975707]Mama's Room[/playlistId] by Under the Influence of Giants, was listed in the iTunes Music Store with a genre of Pop. Then last night it mysteriously changed to Alternative. I haven't seen that happen before.

Since I can't tell a Pop song from an Alternative song by listening (nobody defines these terms), I can't comment on which is correct, but it's interesting that they "correct" genres now and then.

Yeah, for a lot of songs Pop/Rock/Alternative can equally apply.

I tend to define it a bit by how mainstream an artist is.

Britney = Pop (the horror!)
Paul Simon = Rock (only chosen because that was the last Rock album I bought)
UTIOG = Alternative (given that this is their first EP)

FWIW I really liked this single and the band is local so I bought their EP. Shows you how far I am from the local music scene that I have to find out about local bands on iTunes. Thanks Q.
