September 12 has been speculated for while now. The invites should be disseminated shortly. I hope to watch event live, but if I can’t; at least I know Apple will replay the event off their website.

Fixed that for you:

Not to derail the thread further, but, no, in this case MacRumo(u)rs have it correct: it definitely was a significant event in world history.

The attacks changed the world as we knew it… not for the better either.

changed the world that 2 buildings has fallen? come on...was a tragic attacks thats all...you are too low on heart...

I’d be surprised if they use the Steve Jobs Theater. It is a fantastic venue but it only seats 1,000 people. I think they usually invite about 3 to 5 thousand to these events. Probably it will be held at some theater in San Jose.

A 1,000 seat theater is much thinner than one made for 5,000. Win.

Tuesday, September 11 is presumably a less likely date for the event due to the significance of the day in history.

I find some irony that despite it being a "significant date in history" MacRumors still felt it had to link to Wikipedia to explain to us what the meaning was. Remember the Alamo!

I mean... the "sources" would just be common sense and logic lol. Think we all figured as much.

Common, Sense & Logic, Ltd, are they based in London? We used to do a lot of work with them, not so much any more.

If one is under 17ish, Sept 11 is just another date on the calendar. Unless you lived through the horror on that day, it's just another day in the life.

Uhhh there will be more surprises than colors...
New AirPods case with wireless charging ability?

The invitation graphic looks like a wireless charging coil. My bet is Qi for all new devices moving forward - at least phones, tablets, AirPods, and smaller devices, if not some of the MacBooks.

Ooo delete lightning and bring back the headphone jack for us cavemen who too-frequently still use 1/8” cables in rental cars, for inputs professional sound equipment, in our garages, back porches, basements etc. :)

I'm guessing you would have to be around 10 or more unless you were in Manhattan. That means most college students don't know much about it. Or who was George Bush for that matter.

Didn’t happen, sorry.:)

The dumb change for the sake of change away from industry-standard signal strength bars to 5 circles returned to signal bars, from someone waking up. Mobile phones used to have small size as an advantage, whereas now phablet size is important. Small will return, and it’s just a matter of time before the headphone port returns as a “design feature.”

Android supports the headphone jack today.
