Friday fun! (follow FedEx trucks for free iPhones!)

If i decide to go to the hub and pick it up do i really need my drivers license? I know if they deliver it to you all you need is a signature but the thing is if i opt to go get it at the hub my dad's name is on it not mine, but i was just going to sign for him

They always ask for my ID before they release the package to me. If it's in someone else's name, I wouldn't even bother unless that person can go sign for it.

*sigh* okay ill just sign his name when it comes off the truck lol, i can only hope it either comes thursday or saturday though

Does FedEx deliver on Saturdays?

If the seller pays for Saturday delivery. Also, if your particular fedex driver has your package and is in the area, they might drop it off anyways. No guarantees though unless you've paid for Saturday delivery.

Does FedEx deliver on Saturdays?

Yes, and you can request pickup at Fedex without a delivery attempt. You just have to bring your driver's license. I did it with my 3GS and again with an iMac. I sometimes swing through there and pick up my packages so I don't have to wait all day for them to come to me.

Yes, they do. Just like UPS and the US Postal Service. And despite what others are posting, you don't have to pay for it.

I have 100+ packages a day shipped by FedEx and UPS. Saturday delivery is always an extra fee. They do sometimes deliver it anyways on Saturday, but that is up to the driver, and is not guaranteed.

Both the Apple site and the FedEx site give you the option of pre-signing for deliveries.

This makes my heart sing. I remember getting the waiver to sign when I ordered from Apple, but I'm ordered from at&t this go round. I'd really prefer not to take two days off (I'm holding on to the hope they arrive Thursday) to get my iPhone.

If you ordered through Apple, there's usually a link on the page where you check your order status that will let you pre-sign for the shipment. You have to wait until it ships to be able to print the form. Then you print it, fill it out and stick it on your door for the Fed Ex delivery person and they'll leave your package. I've always done it this way with laptops and stuff that I've ordered from Apple.

Ohhh... there you go. I thought there was a pre-sign thing!

I've left a note on the door with my signature and the tracking number giving them permission to leave the package.

I've also picked stuff up at the warehouse. One time the shipment was being held for a day or two for delivery due the sender placing a delivery stipulation on it and the girl just gave me the package anyways. I plan on doing that with the 4S if it arrives at the nearest shipping location a couple days before the 14th.

If it is a fee for the sender than I was unaware of that. All I know is that FedEx and UPS always show up at my house on Saturday if that is the day my shipment arrives at their hub.

if you are asking if a sig is required for delivery, ask yourself this...

would you let a brand new Apple iPhone worth $500 sit on your doorstep with no one home?

there's your answer. dumb.

Sprint is using UPS

FedEx is REALLY frustrating to get them to leave a package, even with a note on the door with my signature, phone number, neighbors name, etc.

Fortunately, Sprint is using UPS, which is really good about leaving stuff, even with out a note on the door. But, to be on the safe side, I will put one on there.

do you just make this stuff up as you go?

Nope, FedEx does.
