OK some progress is being made!!
1) I have "stunt" set up on iPod Touch.
2) Made a call from Canada to US using 1 area code and number using the dial on the iPod Touch then pushing SIP
3) Unable to make a call within Canada using the same format or using just the "local" phone number in format of xxx xxxx, it says ended by phone being called.
4) Can't figure out why it won't call, any suggestions?
5) Should I be using a different dialing format?
Thanks as I know this will be great when the mic/earphones are available.

Is anyone still having trouble?

I just:

1. Entered a username/password here:http://www.voipstunt.com/en/websignup.php

2. Entered my username/password on Fring.

3. Called my cell phone for free by entering 1-<cell phone number>

My iPod Touch is a free VoIP phone!

Yea Ive been following thous steps. But I can only get about 2 calls out of 1 account. Im in canada. Im dialing my phone number like this 1250-xxx-xxxx

What am I doing wrong?

1. VoIPbuster and Voipstunt are the SAME company run by the SAME people. (Check the about us.)
2. you only get 1 minute worth of free calling with either of these services.

So its not totally free which is why im still going to end up buying skype in the near future.

Ahh, this is fun :D I just prank called one of my roommates and confused the crap out of him.

So if I buy the unlimited minetes from portible device to phone it will let me call somones house from my ipod. Instead of it just termanating it?

Well I found a great OS X client so now I can make a bunch of free calls on my new iPod Touch, no thanks to this forum since no one cared to answer my plea for help. I've had no issues with setup and it works perfect with Fring. good luck to the rest of you. :p

I've heard this one minute thing too, but I've run mine (voipstunt) for well over a minute to check. I shut down/clicked off after 1:40. No issues, no CC prompt, just runs and runs.

Same here, nothing cuts out after a minute and I have made multiple calls with VIOPStunt over 1 minute long and it keeps working (assuming you're on WiFi).

drago, thanks for the info about setting up voip on my mac - it helps me troubleshoot some problems I was having with voipstunt & voipbuster. when i put in the information in the sjphone and tried to make a call with voipbuster i got a message that I had used up all my free calls. guess it is true that they limit the number of free calls you can make before they hold your account until you buy credits.

huskermania, thanks for the suggestion about voipcheap. i suspect they are also run by the same company as voipstunt & voipbuster - the sign up for looks exactly the same & the usernames that I used at voipstunt & voipbuster were already used when I tried to sign up at voipcheap. according to voipcheap, they give you 300 minutes for free each week (if I am reading it correctly)

* Max 300 minutes per week of free calls, measured over the last 7 days and per unique IP address. Unused free minutes cannot be taken to the following week(s). If limit is exceeded the normal rates apply. With your FREE DAYS you can call for free to all the destinations listed as free! when you have no FREE DAYS left the normal rates apply. You can get extra Freedays by buying credit
