Sorry, I should have said "borrowed". For 14 days. :)

I have been meaning to get an Air to test or a current mini but I have an apple gift card that I will use as part of payment. Does anyone know how this would work if I return it?

If I decide when the Mini Retina comes out to get that one (given it comes out in 14 days). Can I then exchange it and pay difference or do I get all my money back (and I guess my apple gift card back as well) and have to buy the mini retina then?

I used to think Air would pulverize my fantasy about rMini. Day 4 of owning Air I returned it, partially due to the buzzing bass noise from the speakers but largely because of its size. I guess I'll stick to the rMini Cellular version, 64/128 GB.

I'm guessing we'll see a lot of returns.

The Air isn't a mini. It's a great upgrade for those who love the full-size iPad.

For those that love the mini, wait for the mini. I think you can do it. Third-worlders have to wait 3 weeks for their next tablespoon of rice... I think you can wait for your precious retina display.

I think a lot of us are in the same position. Like I said in na other thread. Not to diminish the accomplishment of the air but I feel it needs to shrink in height a bit and drop just a bit more weight to be perfect.

I'm unsure whether I will keep my mini/4 or retain the air.

There are times I prefer the larger screen, but if I go mini retina, I won't keep the iPad 4 - it will go to my gf, and her 3 will be sold.

Lot of options. My best advice I'm trying to follow myself is, put away the other devices for a week, just use the air, I have to say I can't stand the mini screen now, but the weight of the 4 isn't that much heavier.

Air is the best ipad ever made, full size....and I want to make sure they don't do something stupid like stick 512 ram in the retina mini.

I can't see how it can have all the same components with poor yield screens at higher cost and cost less for the consumer.

I'm a UK journalist who was lucky enough to be invited along to a satellite link up of the Keynote the other week in London. Straight after the event, we were all ushered into another room to look at all the new products - including the retina mini. Have to be honest and I say I was totally blown away by the screen. It looked absolutely beautiful and so so crisp. It really felt like the ultimate tablet. And I desperately wanted to take it away with me!

I'm an iPad mini user and now have the iPad Air. It's been a bit of an adjustment but I'm loving the size and the screen. That said, in a couple of weeks I suspect my head will be turned by that retina mini...

Was the mini screen noticeably sharper than the Air's, in your opinion?

The mini was the first thing I picked up in the room and I was really impressed with it. I couldn't put it down for a good 5 minutes. But to be honest, the iPad Air looked great too. I don't recall thinking that it didn't look as good, just a bit bigger. I guess after using the mini for so long, I was just really amazed at seeing it with a retina screen. But in no way was it miles better than the air. Just smaller!
