So far in 2010 PC World for both Laptop and Desktops, ranks Apple as the number one brand for RELIABILITY and SERVICE.

For Laptops Dell and HP are No. 9 and 10 respectively.
For Desktops Gateway and HP are No.9 and 10 respectively.

Disclaimer: Data from March 2010 PC World.

:apple:GO TEAM APPLE!:apple: ;):):D:p:cool:

Still, all of those other fine brands are at a disadvantage.....
They're infected with the "Windows" Virus which always takes your ratings down.

Any companies with a philosophical commitment to excellence out there other than Apple?
Who's #2? or #3?

:apple: GO TEAM APPLE! :apple:
Keri

PS. I'm still gagging from watching that Steve Ballmer video on YouTube.....
LTD is right! Ballmer IS a "Monkey Boy". Or he's got ants in his pants.

Best Buy Geeks are not set up to answer questions like at the Apple Genius Bars. 5 platform-agnostic questions asked.

Final Outcome: Apple-3, Geeks- 0, Ties-2.

Does Apple have a plant at PCWorld?? :D

1. Best Buy's Geek Squad is not trained as an Apple Genius. A GS has to deal with TVs, Entertainment systems and other services.

2. Best Buy never targets the GS as a Genius competitor. It's a whole different market and purpose.

3. You are still grasping straws and are looking more like a ferocious insecure fanboi at this point.

Here for you....

I'm just reporting interesting Apple related info from a prominent PC magazine. I'm sorry if that disturbs you. :)

I think you are confusing Apple News with trying hard to grasp straws with an old article and trying yo promote heavy fanboism.

Sure we like apple products, but Apple isn't paying me to be a fanboy.

I think you are confusing Apple News with trying hard to grasp straws with an old article and trying yo promote heavy fanboism.

You are mistaken and I find the psychological aspect of this accusation fascinating. I have always been critical of Apple when it is needed especially when discussing gaming. But bringing positive Apple news to the forum from a PC publication of all places, does not equate to fanboism, sorry. :)

From Jan2011 PC World tech log (Steve Fox):
Ten Tech Predictions (for 2011) to Take to the Bank-

No.2 All tablets not named iPad will be massive flops. They won't work well and they won't sell well either.

"I'm a big Android fan and I'd love to see competition among tablets. But Apple's iPad has momentum, a disciplined approach to features and development, and all those fantastic apps. The Android Market is a fractious mess, with too little quality control and far to many options. We shall see."

Regarding Android, my son was having problems with his Android phone. Tech support told him to remove all the apps! I tend to believe there is an issue there with overall quality control. Now without any influence from me, he is using an iPhone.

Ok, who is going to be the first to accuse me of being an Apple fanboy for posting this? ;)

Gateway above Lenovo/IBM in laptops? Err...
And Toshiba's definitely not what it used to be...

And eMachines at #3 in desktops is just plain wrong.
They make some of the cheapest crap money can buy...
(Better at least than the average cobbled generic...)

Still surprised that eMachines is ranked so well... how does that happen?

This report maybe what they get from their readers so take it with a grain of salt!

They have an emachine that is doing mission critical work at the shop where my dad works, it runs windows 98, and is still plugging along without a hiccup. The monitor is newer than the computer, and I'm surprised that the Power Supply hasn't burnt out yet...
