I just had my screen replaced for this problem. Made an appointment at the Genius Bar. Took an hour. They know about the problem and replace the screen to fix it.

Worked out great as I just scratched my screen while waiting for a screen protector. New screen is protected already

Today I was using my iPhone when suddenly the screen turned grey and like pixelated and it was unresponsive. It started to fade out until it went black and immediately it turned on again just to display vertical white and black lines.

I turned it off and restarted it but it failed to show anything other than the vertical lines.

I immediately took it to my authorized seller and service provider (we don't have official Apple Stores here in my country) and they will replace the entire phone under warranty (it's been only one month from the date I bought it). Now I'll have to wait 7 working days but at least I can hope to receive one with a screen that not only will last longer but also to have this front camera problem fixed for good.

They gave me a brand new iPhone yesterday, it's not refurbished but came in a white box. It was manufactured on week 17 (about end of April). The one that died was manufactured on mid February so I hope they have somehow fixed the front camera problem by now.

Only time will tell.

If it was a brand new phone it would come the same way as your original phone and not in a white box. Did they tell you it was a brand new phone? If they did they lied to you.

Yes they did, but I don't care if it's true or not. It is pristine, not a scratch on it. The battery had 0 cycles, the display doesn't have dust or dead pixels. And, on my previous iPhone 6 I had the display assembly clicking issue and this one doesn't.

And it has a full year of warranty, starting from the day they gave me the replacement.

Brand new or refurbished new, I'm quite happy with the it.

I was only pointing that they lied to you, I never said that there was anything wrong with it. Years ago when I had my 4s replaced they told me that the replacement phone was a brand new device so I asked for that in writing, not because I was overly bothered if I got a refurbished or new phone but more because the guy was a ********. I knew they didn't give new phones but I just wanted to see how far they would go. They already had the phone in front of me so I seen the box it was in, I asked for conformation from the store manager and when he got involved he admitted that they are not new.

In the end I set up the phone with my Apple ID and when I made a call the speaker was crackling so they just gave me a new phone sealed.

I have a right-side moon effect on iPhone's front camera too. It is small (about 0.3 mm). I am not going to replace or repair the phone. I bought it: I have paid for the law, to show people what Apple products are. Including flowers like Music app etc.
