Believe me. If I knew a fix I would have posted already. :)

I would like to point out this issue occurs with audio podcasts and audiobooks. Video podcasts, on the other hand, work well.

Hello,
I just found this thread while searching for solutions. I have the exact same problem on a 2.4 mbp. I haven't noticed the problem being long song titles... I will check for that now. But I have noticed that it plays tv/shows movies just fine. Is it possible this is an early sign of the mbp possibly faulty video cards?

Well it does seem to be a problem with the Apple notebooks. I think it's just the program itself. Not any faulty graphic card. Besides, playing movies (which works) would be more taxing to a video card than playing music (which doesn't work).

Well here's a crash log in case anyone is interested.

I just had an idea. I'll try this right now with the "Open using Rosetta" checked.

4:48 - Half hour of playback. Screen went blank but I was able to exit Front Row by pressing the Menu button on my Apple remote several times.

4:55 - Tried it again. Promptly black screened me. But was able to quit by pressing the menu button on remote & waiting for a minute to come out of darkness. =/

I installed the Front Row update last night but haven't been able to test it thoroughly yet. What little testing I've done isn't promising.

Has anyone properly tested this fix yet and had good results?

After the update, I still have the problem the OP described. :( Are you guys viewing Front Row on your Macbook Pro's native displays or an external? I have my MBP in clamshell mode outputting @ 1920x1200 to an external display.
