Yeehoo Frotz has been released on the App Store. I never thought I'd see it there. It's a z-language interpreter for text based games made famous by Infocom. You can get all the old Infocom games legitimately from Activision or Google but to put them on to your device I think you need the $4.99 app called File Magnet. The 'About' screen in Frotz sort of suggests another way to use a browser and get it from but nothing that isn't already freely available is on that site. You can upload your own content but then it becomes public and everyone can download it.

Is there a free way that I can upload my legitimately purchased old-school Infocom games onto my device w/o having to buy a $4.99 application?

Frotz was actually released weeks ago. This is just an update :D

You can upload your game files to your own private web server and re-download them on the iPhone from inside Frotz. That's what I did. Or you can try Mobile Finder, which they claim can be used as of this new update (Mobile Finder is $2.99, but of course it has many other uses, and was also updated recently).

How do I upload z-games to Frotz on your iPhone?

CommanderData - can you explain what is involved with "your own private web server"? Do you need to actually have a website to get anything from your PC onto your iPhone's Frotz space?

Is there anything you can do across a wireless network with your home PC?

Or, though I know Apple frowns on this for reasons i cannot comprehend - over the super-fast USB connection?

Just, anyway to make use of Frotz and upload my own store of z-files to it without needing to first upload them to some outside website would be good.
