So serious question, they're adding a softball, how can you tell a softball from a baseball when both are scaled to emoji dimensions?

Picture? I would imagine the softball might be a different color or have different stitching. Still esoteric, yes. But I'm sure the handful of people that would use the softball emoji will know what it is and for the rest of us we won't care just like we don't care about the rest of the characters.

We are at the stage where we should be able to choose which emojis are displayed in the emoji-picker. It's great for the OS to suggest others as we might need them, but really each individual user is probably only ever less than 5% of the available emojis.
Here's a trivial example: There are flags for every country and a large number of language/skin colour/cultural-specific emojis: these are items that I will never choose - I should be able to remove them from the picker to make it easier to use the ones that I want to use.

If we are going to create a universal world-wide logogram, Why not just adopt Chinese, half the world already understand it and the definitions have been around for centuries. Right, young people always want something new, what a waste.

Dear Apple,

Please give me a way to FILTER my list of emojis. The cable company lets me remove channels from my channel list. I should be able to remove emojis from my emoji list. I have never used any of the family emojis, I don't want to see them. Lots of people want to remove the middle finger emoji from their emoji list so they never accidentally send it. This way, I can get my list of emojis down to a reasonable amount to peruse.

Seems we've come full circle back to hieroglyphics.
Actually, hieroglyphics are much more advanced form of communication though. We, modern humans, are just now beginning to develop graphical form of communication in the form of emojis. This is child play comparing with what the ancient people had.

Hey if you don't like them, don't use them.

I never was a big fan of them, and really never used them but now me and my secretary, as a joke, try to communicate in nothing but emojis when we have to text each other.

Me and my ex-secretary never used to talk much either. Not even emojis.

Ever since I installed Bitmoji, I couldn't give a flying poo about all of this...

Am I the only one that finds the emoji replacement to be less than stellar. I put in specifics and it won't find them even though they are there.
