You don't need Putty, you can SSH into your iPod with Terminal.

To do so, open Terminal and enter-

ssh -l root 123.456.789.123

(but enter your iPod's IP address instead of '123.456.789.123')

It will ask you for the root password for your iPod, and then you're in and can enter the actual commands to modify your directories.

If it all goes to pot, you can always restore and re-jailbreak. But you should be just fine.

another silly question... i know i am a pain... I been searching for 5 in in general-settings for my IP address.. I know what it is suppose to look like, i just cant find it

No prob at all...

Go to Settings, then Wi-Fi, then tap on the network you have logged into. It will bring up a page with various info including your IP address.

Ahh, I never knew you could do it like that. Luckily I had Windows in Fusion so it wasn't a problem.
